Chapter 45 Are You Sure?
After a long time, Eva seemed angry and said, “Okay, then I won’t bother you!” After finishing speaking, she hung up the phone.
Elijah looked at Cordelia quietly and raised his eyebrows slightly. “Have I taken off all your
clothes?”
Cordelia turned over and ignored him.
Moving his eyes, Elijah stopped asking, turned off the light, and fell asleep.
In the middle of the night, Elijah’s phone rang again, and it was a strange female voice.
“Mr. Hansen, Eva took it to heart and committed suicide, shedding much blood. Come here quickly…”
Cordelia heard Elijah get up and leave immediately. And the sound of a car engine came from outside not long after.
At this moment, Cordelia admired Eva. She was hard on herself!
The following day, Elijah came back.
Cordelia had just had breakfast and was about to go to work. Seeing the man’s gloomy face, she asked, “Is Eva okay?”
“Do you want her to be okay?” Elijah didn’t answer but asked.
Cordelia was stunned for a moment, then turned around and left. “Suit yourself.”
Elijah pulled her back. “Cordelia, Eva has been in a wheelchair all year round and cannot walk. Her psychological problems are already serious, and she cannot stand the stimulation.”
“You mean it is my fault for her suicide?” Cordelia asked coldly.
“I’m just reminding you.” Elijah was a little tired.
Cordelia originally planned to leave but wanted to talk to Elijah instead.
“Elijah, I don’t care what kind of fetters between you. It is your business. If you worry about her, you can divorce me and marry her home. And how you love her is your business. Just let me go, okay?”
Elijah’s expression suddenly changed as he heard she had brought up divorce again. “Cordelia, here we go again. Do you think that divorce is just a joke? Will we divorce when you say divorce? Who are you thinking about in such a hurry to get a divorce?”
in the middle of the night because of a phone call, right? Elijah, you are unreasonable!”
Suddenly, Elijah pulled her wrist, vigorously clasped her into his arms, and hugged her tightly.
Rather than hugging her, it was more like restraining her and preventing her from running away.
Cordelia heard the rapid breathing and heartbeat of the man’s chest. And this time, both of them.
were very angry.
“Cordelia, I didn’t come back to quarrel with you,” Elijah’s tone softened, and he explained.
Cordelia had already calmed down.
“There is a reception tonight, and you can go with me, huh?” Elijah said kindly.
Cordelia was a little surprised and looked up at him. “Are you sure? Are you afraid that I will embarrass you?”
Cordelia remembered that in the past, Lamia minded that she grew up in the countryside and acted likes she was not presentable. Of course, Elijah didn’t refute it and acquiesced.
“My grandma chose you as my wife, so you must be excellent. Besides, will you embarrass yourself?” Elijah asked.
