Chapter 385 It’s Just an Ordinary Girl
“Is that so?”
Christina exclaimed in surprise. A hint of disappointment appeared in the eyes of the other noble ladies.
“Who is she?” Christina grew even more curious. “Why haven’t I heard you mention it before? Why don’t you bring her back tonight?”
“Mom…” Alexa said weakly, but she did not dampen Christina’s enthusiasm at all.
Finley replied gently, “She is just an ordinary girl, not some rich young miss. Christina, if you want to see her, I will bring her over to meet you tonight.”
“Good!”
Christina immediately beamed with joy. She did not bother with playing cards and started to prepare dinner.
Alexa looked at Finley curiously and quietly moved up to him before asking.
“Who is it? Do I know her?”
Finley looked at Alexa without any change in expression. There was no extra emotion in his eyes.
“No, you don’t.”
Alexa grasped in curiosity and did not ask any more questions.
Christina meant to hold a family banquet to welcome Finley’s sweetheart and introduce Henry.
“Remember to call Terrence over tonight.”
This was Christina’s request, and Alexa did not dare to refuse.
“He is busy,” Alexa said awkwardly.
Christina returned with authority, “No matter how busy he is, there should be time for a meal, right? Take this opportunity to have a good chat. Lovers’ quarrels are soon mended.”
Under Christina’s repeated requests, Alexa contacted Edwin.
Edwin’s phone was on speaker, and Terrence heard it clearly from aside.
Edwin saw a bright smile appear on his boss’ gloomy face.
Terrence nodded and motioned for Edwin to agree.
Alexa knew that Terrence was definitely around, so she relaxed a lot.
Christina did not seem to be worried that Alexa would have any conflict with Terrence.
Ever since the banquet had been arranged, Christina no longer asked about Alexa and Terrence.
Alexa was a little depressed.
Damarion tugged at her sleeve and clamored to go out to play.
Alexa had no choice but to take Damarion to the nearby amusement park.
When Alexa wasn’t paying attention, Damarion broke free from Yareli’s hand and ran away.
“Damar!”
Yareli turned pale with fright and hurriedly chased after him.
Alexa wanted to stop Damarion, but it was too late.
Damarion staggered and was about to fall to the ground when he was suddenly held by warm arms.
“Little boy, you can’t run around.”
Irvin’s gentle voice sounded, but Alexa’s expression changed in fright.
She pulled Damarion over with a cold face. Damarion was frightened and curled his lips.
He felt wronged.
However, Alexa did not comfort Damarion as gently as usual. Damarion realized that something was wrong, and tears welled up in his eyes.
Yareli silently carried Damarion away.
Alexa was distant as she stared at Irvin vigilantly.
Irvin smiled indifferently and did not take the hostility Alexa showed to heart at all.
“There’s no need, Ms. Duran. My sister and your brother are officially engaged. From now on, we are a family.”
“Mr. Niebergall, don’t flatter yourself.”
Alexa was not nice to Irvin.
The surrounding bodyguards had surrounded Irvin vigilantly. Although there was no conflict, it attracted the attention of many passers-by.
“We just have to keep a distance.”
“If the Duran family cooperates with the Niebergall family, I will let go of what you have done to me before.”
“Is that so? Don’t you know you from the Niebergall family or the Clough family?” Alexa sneered.
“Alexa!”
