Chapter 288 Pregnant Again
Josephine looked up and saw a middle-aged man in the crowd, around thirty or forty years old, who appeared young but was obese.
He sported a brightly colored short-sleeved shirt, which failed to conceal his protruding belly resembling that of an eight-month-pregnant woman. To complete the ensemble, he had sunglasses perched atop his head and a large gold necklace adorning his neck.
His chubby face made him look somewhat silly when he smiled.
Dressed similarly, two individuals were standing next to the obese guy. They held banners with huge words that read, “Chairman Alvarez, welcome to Hardington.”
Perhaps their ostentatious appearance was too conspicuous. People around them kept their distance and made way for them.
Their high profile was so conspicuous that it bordered on being embarrassing.
Lewis remained composed as he discreetly removed his sunglasses, which were the same as the obese man’s, and casually threw them into the trash bin.
Standing behind Lewis, Seth couldn’t help but chuckle at his action.
Lewis took Josephine to the exit, and the obese guy immediately pulled someone over to greet him.
“Chairman Alvarez, you’re finally here. The car is waiting outside. Please come this way.” The obese man gestured with a welcoming hand, and his gaze fell on Josephine.
Josephine, wearing a thick white sweater, had her hair tied up in a bun atop her head. She left a few strands of hair around her ears, making her already small face appear even smaller.
“Why is this young lady dressed so thick?” the obese guy awkwardly asked while glancing at Josephine several times.
Josephine was gorgeous. She looked like an innocent freshman in college. She wasn’t wearing makeup, but her skin was fair and smooth like a peeled egg. It was as though light could reflect on her skin.
The obese man secretly admired Lewis. “Chairman Alvarez surely knows how to have fun.”
Feeling uncomfortable under the man’s gaze, Josephine lowered her head even more, revealing the back of her neck, where one could see the soft, fuzzy strands of hair on it.
The man stared at Josephine’s neck and couldn’t help gulping.
While staring at Josephine, the obese man suddenly felt a chill on his forehead. He instinctively looked up and met Lewis’ cold. gaze.
Startled, the obese man trembled and laughed nervously. “Chairman Alvarez, there’s no need to dress so heavily at Hardington. The temperature is only around eighteen or nineteen degrees during the day. The weather is perfect for wearing short sleeves.”
Without responding to his comment, Lewis asked, “Where’s the car?”
“It’s in the parking lot. This way.” The obese man dared not look at Josephine anymore and continued showing them the way.
“Is it only the three of you, Chairman Alvarez?”
“Yes.”
The obese man opened the door of a Porsche and smirked. “Then you can get on this one. I’ll be your driver.”
Seth casually tossed the baggage into the trunk and took the initiative to sit in the
seat.
Lewis pulled Josephine into the backseat.
passenger
The obese men drove the three of them away from the airport. He enthusiastically introduced Hardington and blabbered non-stop about how great it was.
Hardington was indeed a vacation paradise, especially during winter. It often attracted.
tourists from out of town.
many
This obese guy was the real estate tycoon of Hardington. He owned almost 80% of the hotels and resorts in Hardington’s tourist attractions.
Seth frowned and said, ” So, you’re President Harris?”
The obese man scratched his round belly and laughed. “President Harris? I’m not worthy of such a title in front of Chairman Alvarez. Just call me Fatty Gerald. Many people call me that.”
Seth chuckled. “Mr. Harris, you’re quite an interesting person. No wonder Chairman Alvarez
decided to collaborate with you.”
“Gosh, it’s truly an honor for me to work with Chairman Alvarez. I heard about the Alvarez family’s plan to invest in the tourism industry, so I took a chance and submitted a bid. I never imagined that Chairman Alvarez would personally come to meet me. It was a complete shock.”
Seth nodded and added, “Chairman Alvarez has always had a keen eye for people. Now that I’ve met you in person, I can see that he made the right choice. You are indeed an interesting
person.”
Anyway, Seth was in charge of the meeting this time. Lewis didn’t really care.
Although Lewis claimed to be here for the collaboration, Seth knew deep down that his
intentions went beyond just business discussions with Gerald in Hardington.
Gerald chuckled. Seemingly reminded of something, Gerald warned, “Oh, by the way, Chairman Alvarez, Hardington is not very safe lately. You need to take good care of this beautiful lady beside you.”
“What do you mean?” Seth asked with interest.
“Well, it’s almost the New Year, and many tourists are coming. As you know, Hardington is located near the border, next to Bardblic. There are a lot of human traffickers around,” Gerald explained.
