What Separates Me and You novel Chapter 449

Josephine placed the empty bowl onto the tray and looked at Lewis.

Lewis handed the tray to Mrs. Larson before standing up and said, "Get changed."

Mrs. Larson followed Lewis out and closed the door behind them.

Instantly, Josephine's face fell. She then covered her mouth and rushed to the bathroom.

Leaning over the toilet, she vomited.

The taste of the herbal concoction was incredibly bitter. It was far beyond what an ordinary person could tolerate. Whether before or after her memory loss, the intense bitterness was too much for her to bear.

Her stomach contracted relentlessly, and the bitter taste stimulated her taste buds. She leaned over the toilet and retched again.

However, she only brought up a mouthful of bile.

After throwing up, Josephine was completely drained. She slumped onto the floor. Her face was as white as a sheet.

Thinking about the fact that Avery was still in the hospital, she took a moment to compose herself. She cleared the tears from her eyes and leaned on the toilet to stand up. She then went to the closet to change into a new set of clothes.

Lewis was sitting on the sofa when she came downstairs. Josephine glanced at the screen and was surprised to see him watching Looney Tunes.

Josephine's footsteps halted briefly. Then, she walked up to him.

Mrs. Larson called out to her, "Mrs. Alvarez."

Josephine was slightly stunned. She looked at Lewis on the sofa. He had his legs crossed and was casually watching the TV. He didn't even spare her a glance.

Pursing her lips, Josephine said, "Don't call me that. I'm not Mrs. Alvarez anymore."

"This …" Mrs. Larson also looked at Lewis. Soon, realization dawned on her. She stared at Josephine in shock. "Mrs. Alvarez, you ... can speak now?"

Lewis turned his head slightly and cast a sidelong glance at Josephine.

A few seconds later, he stood up and turned to Josephine. "Let's go."

Josephine hurriedly followed after him. As they stepped out of the house, Josephine found the sunlight a bit glaring.

Conrad opened the car door. "Chairman Alvarez, Mrs. Alvarez."

Josephine got into the car without a word. Lewis followed suit. Soon, the spacious room suddenly felt cramped.

She turned to look at Lewis and said, "Don't let them call me 'Mrs. Alvarez.' We've been divorced for a long time."

Lewis turned and met her gaze. He then said, "Their mouths, their choice. I can't control them."

"But ..." Lewis seemed to remember something. He leaned closer to Josephine. "You've reminded me of something. When should we go and re-register our marriage certificate?"

"Lewis, didn't I make myself clear enough?" Josephine glared at him, anger pulsing in her eyes. "We will never get married again."

Lewis' deep, dark eyes bore into her, and he remained silent for a while.

After a moment, he chuckled. "Now that you can speak, you've changed."

Her appearance didn't change much. She still had the same face and gaze. However, her demeanor now exuded something different.

Of course, this must be influenced by her recalling her own identity.

After all, Josephine was confident and prideful before this. She was like a shining star in the midst of the crowd.

On the other hand, the Josephine, who had lost her memories, was like a blank canvas. The unfamiliar environment shaped her timid and humble personality.

Just like before, Josephine found it hard to communicate with Lewis.

She turned away and ignored him.

Suddenly, Lewis cupped her face and forcefully turned her head to meet his gaze. She was compelled to face Lewis again.

In a low voice, Lewis said, "Josephine, I told you I raised you. You're mine."

Josephine's eyes narrowed.
