What Separates Me and You novel Chapter 466

Albert's head throbbed when he heard Yona wanted another assistant.

If it weren't for her legions of adoring fans, Albert wouldn't even care about her. However, if she decided to terminate her contract now, the movie might fall apart.

"You can just settle this matter with Nicolas. Isn't the newbie that you want in your team?"

"Well, I thought I would tell you about my plans first! In any case, does this mean that I can have her as my assistant?" Yona asked gleefully.

"It's really none of my business," Albert replied curtly before hanging up.

Yona didn't even care that he was so curt. He hadn't said no, so that meant that he agreed.

It was 3:00 pm when the shoot ended. None of them had had their lunch yet.

Nicolas decided to treat everyone to lunch, but Yona refused and left after packing up her things.

Wendy held Josephine's hand as she said, "Let's go! You've just arrived today, and it's the perfect time to get to know everyone!"

Josephine nodded in agreement and was about to leave with Wendy when her phone rang.

She pulled out her phone and saw that it was Conrad calling her.

Josephine gently pried her hand off Wendy's hand and said, "I have to pick up this call."

She walked to a secluded corner and picked up the phone before saying to the receiver, "Hello?"

"Madam, I've brought you something. Can you come to the parking lot to get it?" Conrad asked.

"What did you bring?"

"Your medication."

Josephine's stomach churned at his reply.

Conrad continued, "If you can't come to the parking lot, I can come in and pass it to you instead."

Though Conrad had sounded respectful when he said that, he knew she didn't want anyone to know she knew him. So, by offering to send in the medication himself, he was, in a way, forcing Josephine to come out.

Josephine also knew what he was insinuating, and after a moment of silence, she replied, "I'm coming over now."

She hung up before she turned to Wendy to say, "You go ahead first. I have something to take care of."

Wendy was stunned for a split second as she asked, "You're not coming with us?"

Josephine lightly nodded and replied, "I'm sorry."

"That's alright. There will be more opportunities in the future. You can go ahead and deal with whatever you need to do."

"Okay."

After Josephine bid her goodbyes to Wendy, she turned to walk toward the parking lot.

Even from a distance, she could see Conrad waiting for her. Conrad also noticed her arrival and quickly returned to the car to take out a box.

"Madam, here's your herbal concoction."

Josephine had reached out to take the box but stopped in her tracks at his words. She raised her head to look at Conrad and said, "Could you not call me 'Madam'?"

"Well …" Conrad stammered. He had no idea how to reply, so he decided to just change the topic entirely.

"Here's your herbal concoction. You should have it while it's still warm."

Josephine decided to just let the matter go as well and opened the box. In it was a small bowl.

The bitter smell of her herbal concoction hit her senses like a truck. Josephine took a deep breath and held it before she gulped down the medication.

It was an old prescription, so the taste was also familiar.

After finishing the concoction, Josephine covered her mouth with her hand and leaned against the side of the car, retching for quite a while before finally being able to stomach the bitter contents.

Who would've thought she would still be haunted by this bitter medication even after starting her job?

Conrad quickly rummaged through a bag to retrieve a mint and passed it to her.

"Please have this mint, Madam. It will get rid of the bitter taste."

Josephine's eyes were tightly shut. She pushed his hand away before she said, "No, thank you."
