When I Met You novel Chapter 12

Susan specially chose a white evening dress which was proper yet casual. She put on a light make-up, and by the time they were almost departing, Edward picked a necklace and helped her to wear it.

Susan felt a little curious looking at this necklace because all the while Edward always showered her with expensive presents. In contrast, this necklace only had a heart-shaped diamond engraved on it, and it didn’t look brand new.

“My late mother picked this necklace especially for her daughter-in-law.”

Edward explained faintly.

“Then let me return this to you after tonight.” Susan was very understanding.

Edward didn’t respond to her, instead he just let Susan hooked around his arm and together they entered the car and off they went to the Ford family house.

All the while, Susan was aware that Edward was from a wealthy family, however she wouldn’t be able to imagine the extend of Edward’s wealth!

The Ford family seemed to have established a kingdom in the southeast corner of A City, and from the manor house one could see the orderly roofs of the buildings from afar, and as Susan sat in Edward’s car, she found that the car still had to travel for some time before reaching the main courtyard. When they got off the car and entered the main building, the insides were so luxurious that she was amazed by the noble yet low-key aura.

Susan suddenly discovered that the notion of her divorcing Edward sounded like a ridiculous thing at the moment. It would be a massive waste if she didn’t extort any money from him.

The moment Susan entered the building, she saw an old person sitting in the living room. Although he had white hair, his eyes were intimidating. His old age didn’t conceal his air of mightiness at all.

“Dad.” Susan recognized that this old man was Edward’s dad, so she immediately greeted him with a smile.

Edward didn’t greet his father but instead he just handed something to a butler standing by on one side. He then asked Logan, “Is brother here?”

“Ruben is bringing over your new sister-in-law.”

The moment Logan finished his words, a clear and crisp voice rang out from the second floor.

“Edward, you’re back! Come here! Let me meet your smart and knowledgeable wife.”

As he said that, he was also strutting down the stairs.

Susan took a good look at this man and found that he had a set of beautiful features which included a pair of mesmerizing eyes. The way he carried himself made him look like a playboy.

“My name is Scott. How should I address you?”

“Just call her Mrs. Ford.” Edward replied on her behalf.
