When I Met You novel Chapter 20

Was Vanessa insane? Why would she look for her at the house?

As Susan laid in her bed, she felt as though she was transparent. She didn’t even dare to look outside. She cleaned herself like she was guilty of something and then went to bed. Edward did not come back for the night.

At daybreak, Susan heard someone entering the house after she washed up. Edward was home but he didn’t come home on his own. He was carried on the shoulders by Scott and was obviously drunk.

“Why did he drink so much?” Susan looked bewildered at Edward.

Scott signaled that he didn’t know and after a while, placed Edward onto the bed and said, “Perhaps he was heartbroken.”

What he said stumped Susan and she didn’t know how to respond. She didn’t break Edward’s heart since they had never been in love. Then… could Vanessa be the cause of his sadness? No wonder Vanessa looked for her last night.

Scott stretched himself and yawned after placing Edward in the bed and said, “I’m exhausted after drinking with Edward. I’ll go back now.” Scott left after he said.

Susan returned to the bedroom and saw Edward stumbling to his feet and looked as if he was heading to the bathroom.

“Hubby, what do you want?” Susan quickly supported Edward.

Edward looked at Susan and said, “Shower.”

“…”

Susan was stunned and replied, “Okay, I’ll go with you.”

She couldn’t bear to see Edward stumble to the bathroom and was worried that he would fall over. When they reached the bathroom, just as she turned on the faucet and positioned Edward in, he grabbed Susan into the shower, and before she could react, he started to kiss her voraciously.

There was alcohol in his breath but his actions were not that of someone drunk. He even adjusted the hot water by himself. Before long, they were all wet.

“Behave! Don’t struggle.” She managed to struggle out of Edward’s clutches and wiped the water from her face and prevented Edward from advancing towards her.

Edward frowned as he looked at her and took out his phone from his pocket. Susan was startled. She saw Edward place his phone on the cabinet and continued to drench himself with his clothes on. Susan’s clothes were also wet at this point.

She wanted to walk over to remove Edward’s clothes so that he would be more comfortable but just as she undid a button, his phone began to ring.

The phone was still working even when it was soaked with water. Susan frown but didn’t see who the caller was and Edward had already canceled the call. The phone rang again and Edward canceled the call once again. In the end, the phone stopped ringing.

Susan continued, “Why did you drink so much? Come, let’s take off the clothes.” Susan coaxed Edward.

Edward looked at Susan with his attractive eyes. Although he was drunk, he looked overbearing.

“No!” After a while, his eyes started to narrow.

“Don’t you feel uncomfortable to be in the shower with your clothes?” Susan tried to reason with Edward.

“Okay, undress me.” Edward compromised and Susan moved forward to undress him. Before she could touch him, he grabbed her hand and said, “Use your mouth.”

“…”

Edward closed his eyes as if he was waiting.

Susan clenched her teeth and said, “Okay.”

Since he had closed his eyes, he wouldn’t know if she was using her mouth. She tried to use her hand again and nothing happened. She managed to undo the rest of the buttons.

Susan began to undo his trousers when Edward opened his eyes and startled Susan. Edward said, “I’ll undress myself, you hold onto it.”
