The woman walked to Susan and extended her hand graciously to Susan and greeted.
“You must be Susan, the secretary, right? I’ve heard of you, I’m Vanessa.”
Susan’s heart skipped a beat but she maintained a smile professionally. She similarly extended her hand and introduced herself, “Vanessa, Mr. Ford hasn’t arrived at the office. Would you like to wait for him at his office or remain at the reception area? I’ll get you a cup of coffee while you wait.”
Susan knew a little about the story between Vanessa and Edward. The general idea was that Vanessa was his unforgettable lover. But when she married Edward, she confirmed that there was nothing between Edward and Vanessa. Of course, she didn’t know what happened between Edward and Vanessa to cause them to stop contacting each other.
She had guessed about how Vanessa looked in the past but now she saw that Vanessa was extraordinarily beautiful and she had a poise that was befitting of being named as one of the beauties of the country.
“No need, thanks, Ms. White. If you have the time, I’d like to find out a little about Edward. After all, you are the woman who understands Edward the most now.”
Vanessa joked as she held onto Susan’s hand causing Susan to feel very uncomfortable. Just as Vanessa was about to pull Susan to the reception area to have a good chat, there was a low cough from behind them.
Susan turned around and saw Edward and nodded to greet him formally, “Mr. Ford.”
Vanessa released Susan’s hand and smiled radiantly. She rushed over to give Edward a big hug.
“Edward, you’re here.”
“Why did you come to the office?”
Edward nonchalantly removed Vanessa’s arm from his neck and looked at Vanessa as she said, “I can’t wait to see you.” Vanessa bit on her lower lip as she said and blushed.
There was nothing strange about Edward’s expression. He gently opened the office door and walked in. Vanessa rushed in with him and then closed the door.
Edward’s office was right next to Susan’s office which a few secretaries shared. After Vanessa went into Edward’s office, the few secretaries started to gossip.
