Chapter 119: Uncontrollable
Chapter 119 Uncontrollable
Fate had a curious way of intertwining lives.
That’s the first thought that crossed my mind when I turned around and saw Jerry’s strikingly handsome face,
Cecil also glanced at Jerry, frowning slightly. “Mr. Hammer lives here?”
That’s the question I wanted to ask too.
With Jerry’s wealth, he could easily choose any villa in the upscale neighborhoods. Why would he live in a place with such a down–to–earth vibe?
Jerry smiled nonchalantly. I’m here for my kid’s schooling.”
Was he already a father? I questioned silently in my head. But then again, wealthy families were always complicated. Who didn’t have a couple of illegitimate babies hidden away?
Cecil smiled and exchanged a few pleasantries before pushing the suitcases from the elevator into the apartment.
Seeing that Cecil was about to continue helping me unpack, I quickly waved my hand, saying, “Cecil, no need. Elissa will be here soon be here. You should go focus on your own work.”
Cecil had just returned to the Patel family, and with Charlotte causing trouble, he must be overwhelmed.
Cecil glanced at the time and didn’t insist. He asked, “Alright. So are you satisfied with the house?”
I answered, “Of course, it’s perfect.”
The appliances were all in place; I just needed to pick up a few daily essentials.
Cecil’s eyes softened. “That’s good. I’ll send you the door code through the message, and you can change it anytime. I’ll be off then. If you need any help, just let me know.”
“Okay.” I agreed and saw Cecil enter the elevator. Once the doors closed, I headed back to my new home.
Jerry seemed to have just woken up. He wandered around his place and then leaned against the door with a cup of water, asking slowly, “Avoiding trouble?”
I shot Jerry a glare, my tone dripping with sarcasm. “You know the answer. You’d better keep your sister on a leash and stop her from causing trouble for innocent people.”
Given the relationship between the Hammer family and the Harris family, Jerry and Kimberly should be very close.
But of course, if he’s already calling her his sister, how could they not be? Once Jerry found the Harris family’s long- lost eldest daughter and fulfilled the engagement, he would officially be Kimberly’s brother–in–law.

Chapter 119: Uncontrollable
I couldn’t help but see Jerry and Kimberly as a family, feeling a bit resentful.
Jerry raised an eyebrow and called out, “Don’t speak out of turn. She is not my sister. I don’t like people without blood ties calling me brother.”
I nodded, feigning surprise. “Didn’t expect you to be such a principled person.”
So fake.
That day at the party, Jerry and Kimberly seemed quite close.
Their bickering reminded me of Christopher and Evelyn from the past.
Jerry suddenly smirked, a roguish glint in his eyes. “Hope Royston, do you still remember what you promised me that day?”
I frowned. “What promise?”
Jerry leaned in, relentless. “Forgotten already?”
The moment I met Jerry’s teasing gaze, it all rushed back. It was when he blindsided me that day, and I had casually agreed to something to get him off my back.
I didn’t want any entanglement with Jerry. Besides, words were just words. I decided to play dumb. “I don’t remember.. Do you have any proof?”
Jerry raised an eyebrow. “Proof?”
1 scoffed “Of course, Mr. Hammer, you must know the saying words are wind.”
Jerry looked at me with a mix of amusement and intrigue, then gestured for me to come closer. “Come over here.”
“And why would I do that?” I looked at Jerry warily. Based on my recent interactions with him, it was bound to be no
good.
Jerry took out his phone, tapped it a few times, and handed it to me. Sunlight streamed through the window, casting a glow on him, highlighting the rebellious arrogance in his eyes.
Jerry smirked, holding up his phone. “Take a look at this.”
I hesitated but walked over, and to my shock, I saw a lewd scene playing out on Jerry’s screen. Mortified and enraged, I turned to leave immediately!
What Jerry showed me was a video of Evelyn and Charlie from that night.
“What’s the rush?” Jerry stretched out his long leg, blocking my way, and rewound the video a bit.
The screen was now pitch black, but the audio was still playing.
The voice that emerged was unmistakably mine.

“Can you keep this to yourself for now?”
‘I can. What’s in it for me?”
“What do you want?”
“Haven’t decided yet. How about you promise me one thing? I’ll let you know what it is when I figure it out.”
“Okay.”
After hearing this conversation, I looked up at Jerry in shock, questioning, “You actually recorded it.”
Despite his seemingly carefree demeanor, Jerry was meticulous, leaving no stone unturned.
He chuckled softly, his tone dripping with arrogance. “Just happened to catch it. Does this count as evidence?”
I was at a loss for words, my tone strained. “You’re ruthless. Fine, what do you want?”
Was he going to ask me to hurry up and divorce Christopher?
If so, I’d be more than happy to oblige.
He voiced, “There’s a birthday party the day after tomorrow, and I need a date.”
I’m not interested in parties at all, refusing, “Can I skip it?”
Jerry asked, “What do you think?”
1 agreed, “Got it.”

It’s just one event,
After I said that and was about to turn back home, the elevator suddenly opened. Elissa saw me and walked over quickly, glancing at Jerry with a bit of amazement in her eyes. “You have a friend over?”
She was about to link arms with me and head into Jerry’s place.
This is his place. Mine is across the hall.” I quickly pulled Elissa and led her toward my apartment.
Elissa whispered, “So, who is he…?
The one who messed up my divorce. It was him.” I didn’t lower my voice, saying it loud enough for Jerry to hear.
