In a daze, I thought of the past.

At that time, Christopher and I had just been married for half a year. My period was delayed by about ten days. Even though he always used protection, I still suspected that I might be pregnant.

I took a deep breath and walked out of the hospital. 

“If I change it now, it will be very easy.” 

I called Elissa, and she quickly answered the phone. “I was just about to call you. Where are you? Why didn’t you come to work? What happened last night? Why did your phone suddenly shut down? Nothing happened between you and Christopher, right?” 

She was very anxious and asked many questions. 

I didn’t know how to respond to her. 

I choose to answer her first question, “I am at Messlushi Hospital.” 

“Did you go for your prenatal check–up? You should tell me so I can accompany you.” 

Elissa always managed to grasp the key points immediately. “No, this is the hospital under the Valence Group. How did you end up there?”

Elissa thought for a moment and asked, “Are you wondering if he will leave Evelyn because you have a child?”
