Chapter 55 Rescue 

“It’s not like that.” 

I always felt that something was off. 

Christopher asked, “What’s wrong?” 

I thought for a moment and said, Bentley usually takes his meds right after his old issue acts up, and he usually bounces back. Why did he pass out this time?”

After listening for the first time, I couldn’t contain my anger.

I stopped arguing with him and looked at Adam. “Are Bentley’s clothes from before the treatment still there? Could you please check if there are any medications in the pockets?”

Adam immediately instructed the doctor behind him to take care of it.

“It’s impossible. Every time the maid finishes washing the clothes, she puts the medicine in the coat pocket and then hangs it in the cloakroom. I always check it once.”

Christopher hurried to catch up with me and asked, “Where are you going?”

I just felt very angry at the time, emotions had reached the critical point which couldn’t be believed that I just threw him away hardly. 

I had never lost my temper like this before in front of Christopher, and he was stunned. 

Taking this opportunity, I went straight into the elevator and went upstairs. 

I pushed open the door to the hospital room, and Evelyn appeared perfectly fine. She was lounging on the sofa, with her legs propped up on the coffee table, enjoying a plate of fruit. 

Her appearance didn’t seem like she was in a hospital; it looked more like she was on vacation in a hotel. 

Seeing me barge in, she was startled and quickly put her legs down. “What are you doing? You scared the baby in my belly!” 

“Did you take away Bentley’s pill?” 

I walked straight in and interrupted her directly. 

She froze for a moment, looking at me in disbelief. “Do you think I wanted to kill Bentley?” 

“Answer me, where did Bentley’s pill go?” 

“How would I know? Maybe Bentley took it out himself; maybe it fell out when Bentley was brought to the hospital.” 

After listening to her explanation, I was also stunned for a moment. 

What she had said was right. 

During the entire process of Bentley being taken to the hospital, everyone was in a state of panic. 

In such a situation, the medicine was very likely to fall out of the pocket. 

I was a bit extreme. 

I breathed a sigh of relief. “Bentley’s condition is best left unrelated to you.” 

“What else do you want to do with me? Do you think you’re a cop?” 

Evelyn’s face suddenly changed as she spoke sarcastically. She sat down on the couch clutching her stomach, looking extremely uncomfortable. 

I was startled and about to call the doctor when Christopher rushed over and squatted in front of her, asking, “Are you okay? I’ll go get the doctor.”

water.” 

Evelyn snorted. “Hot water doesn’t cure anything” 

I stumbled and almost fell after being bumped. When I looked up, I witnessed their natural interaction. 

Evelyn had been pretending to be weak, but Christopher was willing to believe her. 

After Bentley was admitted to the intensive care unit, the doctors advised against visiting him for the sake of his 

health. 

I could only stand at the door, looking inside through the glass. 

I felt uncomfortable that the normally kindly Bentley was now breathing only through an oxygen mask. 

Suddenly, I saw Bentley’s fingers move slightly. 

I looked at Barry with surprise. “Barry, did Bentley move? 

Barry was also very excited. 

I originally thought Bentley would take a long time to wake up; I didn’t expect him to wake up so quickly. 

Surprised and delighted, I was about to run to the doctor, but halfway there, I suddenly heard the ECG monitor ring 

sharply. 

“ICU No. One, prepare for rescue!” 

Adam personally watched over Bentley tonight. When he heard a commotion, he immediately led the doctors and nurses running over, his face grave as he rushed into the intensive care unit. 

I stood in the middle of the hallway, and my mind was blank. 

What was wrong? 

Didn’t Bentley move? 

His fingers moved; did that mean his condition was improving? Was he going to wake up? 

For a moment, I felt dizzy and held the seat beside me to stand still. 

The nurse ran out of the intensive care unit to get medication while the doctors were working hard to save Bentley.
