Where Petals of Vengeance Bloom novel Chapter 101

Nathan felt his heart wrench at the scene unfolding before him. His eyes blazed with fury as he roared, "Stop!"

He lunged forward, his hand raised to strike Claire, the air whistling around it.

Sensing the impending danger, May instinctively rushed between them, pleading, "Sir, you mustn't strike her. If you harm Miss Claire, there won't be a chance for an alliance with Mr. Foster!"

"Get out of my way!" Nathan shouted, his voice cold and unyielding. "Today, I swear I'll end this troublemaker." He grabbed a potted plant from the coffee table, aiming it at Claire's head.

It was clear that as a father, Nathan felt not a shred of affection for his daughter, Claire. Every time he lashed out, it was with the intent to inflict real harm.

May stood firm between Nathan and Claire, refusing to let him hurt her.

Meanwhile, Claire, fueled by anger, relentlessly brought the ashtray down on Vanessa's head, leaving her bleeding and dazed.

Ethan rushed over, desperation in his voice, "Claire, how long will this madness continue?"

Just then, Claire hurled the ashtray, striking Ethan squarely on the forehead. Blood immediately streamed down his face as he staggered back, clutching his wound.

Vanessa lay on the floor, blood pouring from her head, her hands clutching her skull as she cried out in pain.

But Claire's hatred blinded her to everything else. Her hands fell like rain, slapping Vanessa's face with each resounding smack, leaving Vanessa's cheeks swollen and blood trickling from her mouth.

Adah rushed forward, tears streaming down her face, "Claire, stop it, please!"

But Claire, blinded by rage, ignored her pleas. She had endured too much over the years, always suppressing her emotions like a turtle hiding in its shell, never receiving any genuine care from her family.

She was done. Today, it would end.

Let them die!

First Vanessa, then Nathan!

May's heart ached as she watched, her voice trembling, "Mr. Linwood, Miss Claire is losing a lot of blood. Please, help her..."

But Nathan cut her off sharply, "May, the Linwood family has no need for a maid who can't mind her own business. You're fired. Leave immediately." His tone was icy, devoid of any warmth.

Tears welled in May's eyes, but her concern for Claire remained undiminished. Even in the face of dismissal, she felt compelled to speak. "Mr. Linwood, I don't understand. Miss Claire is your own daughter. Why are you so harsh to her? She grew up away from you and Mrs. Linwood, and now that she's finally home, doesn't she deserve some love? Do you even have a heart..."

"Silence! My family affairs are none of your concern. Get out!" Nathan's voice was thunderous, brooking no argument.

May stood her ground, determined. "I will leave, but not before I tend to Miss Claire's wounds."

Mrs. Linwood's blow had been merciless, the sharp edge of the ashtray gouging a deep triangular wound in Claire's vulnerable skull.

As May moved to fetch the first aid kit, Nathan ordered her dragged out of the house and cast onto the lawn.

Nathan looked down at Claire lying unconscious, her head bleeding profusely, and felt nothing but disdain and irritation.
