Where Petals of Vengeance Bloom novel Chapter 319

Normand was so embarrassed, he could have curled his toes straight through the floorboards.

Forcing a fake grin, he tried to explain, “It’s just a little thing couples do. You older folks wouldn’t get how us young people keep the romance alive.”

But Kendrick and Victor weren’t buying it for a second.

The impatience in that girl’s voice over the phone just now had been obvious as daylight.

“What? You don’t believe me?” Normand challenged, his pride stung.

Victor shot him a mischievous smirk. “If you really can get her to come over for dinner, then maybe we’ll believe you. Right, Dad?”

Kendrick nodded vigorously. “Your brother’s got a point.”

At this stage in life, Kendrick was preoccupied with two things: who would inherit the family business, and when his sons would finally settle down.

A few years back, he hadn’t worried about marriage for his eldest at all. Normand had good looks and a solid background—surely half the young women in town were eager to chase after him.

Who could’ve guessed that in a blink, his eldest was pushing thirty and didn’t even have a girlfriend in sight?

His younger son had dated plenty since coming of age, but none of his girlfriends had been the kind you’d seriously bring home. Instead, he spent his days running wild with a crowd of party-hopping misfits, living it up while Kendrick lost sleep every night.

Just recently, the younger one had come home with a black eye and a gash on his head from a late-night brawl.

Honestly, Kendrick would much rather see Normand going on dates with a steady girlfriend than hanging out with those good-for-nothings. Last time it was a head wound; next time, who knew? Maybe he wouldn’t come back at all.

That’s why, more than ever, Kendrick was desperate for Normand to find someone special.

“So, Normand, what does this girl do?” Kendrick asked, curiosity and hope blending in his voice.

Normand’s face flushed. “She’s a student at Cresthaven Institute of Technology.”

At that, Kendrick instantly warmed to the idea. Anyone who could get into Cresthaven had to be top of their class nationwide. If his son could end up with such a bright young woman, Kendrick would give his blessing without hesitation.

He beamed even brighter. “Well, as luck would have it, we’re all free tonight. Why not invite her over?”
