Where Petals of Vengeance Bloom novel Chapter 402

Jeffry rapped his knuckles softly on the door—twice—then waited, but there was no response.

He frowned, gave the door a firmer knock, and called out, “Liam, are you in there?”

Still, the door stayed tightly shut. Not a sound came from inside.

Jeffry glanced back at Sean. “Sir, I don’t think Liam’s home.”

Sean’s expression darkened, frustration flickering across his face.

Ever since Mandy’s death, Liam hadn’t shown up to work for over a month now. No one had any idea what he’d been doing all this time.

Sean drew in a long breath, trying to steady himself, but anxiety gnawed at him, relentless.

He slammed his palm against the door, desperation creeping into his low voice. “Liam! Open up!”

No answer. The door remained resolutely closed.

Sean’s body wavered, and he stumbled hard against the cold wall.

Jeffry rushed over to steady him, worry etched into his face. “Are you alright, sir?”

Sean shook his head, his voice rough. “I’m fine.”

He lifted his gaze, eyes fixed on that unyielding door.

Jeffry spoke gently, “Sir, maybe we should come back later—Liam might return soon.”

Sean hesitated, gaze lingering on the door for a long moment before finally starting to turn away.

She tilted her head, curiosity shining in her eyes as she studied this tearful stranger and the man standing beside him.

She blinked, her voice clear and innocent. “Daddy?”

“That’s right. I’m your daddy.”

She’d never imagined her father would look like this—handsome enough to be a movie star, kinder than anyone she’d ever seen on TV. Something about him felt instantly familiar and safe.

Her face brightened with a shy smile. “Daddy, you really came to take me home?”

Sean smiled back, his heart aching with love. “Yes, sweetheart. I’m here to bring you home.”

“Will I get to see Mommy when we get there?” she asked, her words as sharp as a knife, slicing straight through Sean’s heart. The pain was sudden and raw, as if something inside him had been torn apart.
