Where Petals of Vengeance Bloom novel Chapter 463

She narrowed her eyes. Adah really had a knack for showing up at just the right moment—just like in her previous life. Back then, after Vanessa had pushed Irene down the stairs, she and Adah had arrived on the scene one after the other.

Adah knew perfectly well that she couldn’t have been the one to push Irene—she’d been downstairs the whole time—yet she had still chosen to cover for Vanessa, going so far as to delete the security footage herself.

Now, Claire wondered, what would Adah do this time, seeing her own son and precious adopted daughter lying at the bottom of the stairs, both battered and bleeding?

Claire watched with a hint of anticipation. But to her surprise, Adah’s face didn’t display the pain and worry for Vanessa she’d expected.

Instead, seeing Cordelia and Vanessa unconscious, and Ethan writhing on the ground unable to get up, Adah clutched her head in agony, as if she was about to split apart.

A flood of memories crashed through her mind—

“Mom, you knew it was Vanessa who pushed Irene. Why did you cover for her?”

“You’re my real mother! To protect Vanessa, you deleted the only evidence that could have proved my innocence. How could you be so cruel to me?”

“Officer, it wasn’t me, you’ve got the wrong person—it was Vanessa.”

“You think you can guilt me just because you gave birth to me? Fine, I’ll repay you for giving me life. If you won’t raise me, then I’ll give you a finger in return—that’s all your love is worth to me.”

“You ruined me, all of you ruined me. I don’t care about my reputation anymore. I just want you all dead—”

“Hahaha, Adah, your darling husband stole your kidney for his mistress. The daughter you doted on was the mistress’s child. This is your payback at last.”

...

The chaos on the staircase was eerily identical to the scene from her past life, and it sent a brutal shock through Adah, unlocking memories she’d buried deep inside.

Terrible images tumbled through her mind, making her feel as if her skull would split open. Her heart felt as though it had been run through with a knife.

The daughter she’d carried for nine months—her precious little girl—had been abandoned by Nathan at an orphanage to suffer, while Nathan had brought Vanessa, his bastard child, home for Adah to raise.

Her own kidney had been taken and given to Sophia.

Her daughter’s kidney had been stolen and transplanted into Vanessa.

Claire, won’t you give me one more chance?

Chapter 463 3

“Claire...” The word was so quiet, Claire barely heard it.

Not that it mattered. Whatever Adah had to say, Claire was sure it was nothing good.

Just the same old insults—calling her ungrateful, heartless, vicious. She’d heard it all before, in her previous life, and she was tired of it.

“Sean, let’s go. My mother will be worried if she doesn’t see me soon.”

“Alright.”

Sean took Claire’s hand, and together they walked away the way they had come.
