On their wedding night... the man...
Rebecca White's muscles tensed, her gaze fixed unblinkingly on him.
Francis met her stare, his eyes slender and half-closed, he spoke clearly and slowly.
"I am... that man."
"!!"
Rebecca White's mouth fell open, shock exploding in her eyes!
She abruptly closed her eyes!
Flashes of that night burst into her mind... the dark room, the scorching heat, two people entangled...
"Rebecca."
Francis took her hand, "I'm sorry... from now on, I'll take good care of you, and James. We'll live well together, as a family."
"?"
Rebecca White frowned and opened her eyes, a layer of mist clouding her gaze, struggling to believe.
"You're lying to me, right?"
"No..." Francis tightened his grip on her hand, his gaze growing even more determined.
"Rebecca, it's me."
A second, two seconds.
Rebecca White's lips parted slightly, her hands trembling uncontrollably in his grip, suddenly breaking free from Francis.
"Don't touch me!"
"Rebecca?" Francis was startled.
Rebecca White's gaze was a mix of crying and laughing, filled with fear and hatred.
"You ruined my life! And now you apologize? Talking about living well...?"
What a ridiculous and absurd thing to say!
"Get out!"
Rebecca White sprung up, pushing the man forcefully, her eyes reddened, "Get out!"
However, Francis stood his ground, immovable.
She couldn't shake him in the slightest!
"Rebecca!"
Francis took the opportunity to pull her into his arms. "I know this is all so sudden for you..."
"Ah..."
Rebecca White grew more agitated, struggling in his embrace, her voice breaking, "Let go of me! Let me go!"
