Whispers Turn to Whimpers: Could He Ever Change? novel Chapter 1066

"Yeah," Sherilyn said, visibly relaxing.

"You know..." Blake chuckled, memories flooding back. "All these years I've known you, and you're still the same as when you were just starting out. Haven't changed a bit."

He grabbed his car keys and as they walked, he leaned in slightly. "What are you even nervous about now? Nobody's going to turn down Mr. Nine... I mean, did you know more and more people are eager to invest in Mr. Marshall's projects because of you?"

Caleb Marshall never really had issues finding investors, but with Sherilyn by his side, his projects were now more successful than ever.

Blake smiled, feeling a sense of accomplishment. "Mr. Marshall even said signing you early was one of my best moves. Ha! Let's get going."

"Alright..."

With that, Blake and Sherilyn left the studio.

So when Gilbert arrived, he found the place empty once again!

The bodyguard, looking down, hesitated to meet his gaze. "Mr. Nine... Ms. Gomez went with Blake to a gathering."

That was the afternoon for the bodyguard, trailing behind Mr. Nine through SunhavenIronforge, going from one place to another.

No wonder Mr. Nine was in a foul mood. It seemed absurd how difficult it was for him to catch even a glimpse of Ms. Gomez.

"Let's go!"

Gilbert stood silent for a moment, then abruptly turned on his heels.

"Yes, sir..." The bodyguard hurried after him.

As the car door swung open, the driver timidly asked, "Mr. Nine, back to Blue Haven?"

"?" Gilbert shot him a sharp look, his lips curling into a terse reply, "Idiot!"

He ducked into the car.

The bodyguard cast a sympathetic glance at the driver. "Not Blue Haven. We're picking up Ms. Gomez."

"Got it," the driver nodded quickly.

Mr. Nine was determined to find Ms. Gomez today, come hell or high water.

To avoid another miss, Gilbert called Sherilyn on the way.

The call was answered by her assistant, Naomi, as Sherilyn often handed her phone over when she was busy.

"Hello, Mr. Harrison?"

"Yeah." Gilbert's frown deepened at the absence of Sherilyn's voice. "Tell Sherilyn I'll be there soon. She should wait for me."

"Of course!"
