Francis stepped out of the car to find Selina already waiting at the entrance.

"Mr. Johnson," Selina said, her face lighting up with a shy smile.

"You're here?" Francis replied with a gentle smile. "Sorry, I should've picked you up."

"It's alright..."

Selina shook her head, still smiling. "I wasn't doing much at home anyway. You're busy enough without running around for me. Besides..."

Selina's eyes gleamed with a hint of pride. "Why here, though? This place is so pricey."

The Cozy Corner was the fanciest restaurant in Sunhaven. Selina had never been, but she'd heard that even the cheapest wine there cost a small fortune.

"It’s nothing," Francis replied, shrugging it off. "Having dinner with you deserves something special. This place seemed just right."

"Well... okay." Selina couldn't help but let her lips curl upwards.

Was he saying she was important to him?

"Mr. Johnson," Selina said, pressing her lips together, "shall we go in?"

"Of course." Francis stepped aside, gesturing for her to lead the way. "Ladies first."

As they turned to enter, a taxi pulled up, and Rebecca White stepped out, her gaze locked onto their retreating figures.

Rebecca stood there, a sardonic smile playing on her lips, before she moved to follow them.

"Ms. White."

Out of nowhere, a figure stepped in front of her, blocking her path.

"Sawyer?"

Rebecca halted, recognizing him instantly. He was practically Francis's shadow, so seeing him here wasn't surprising. That he'd stop her was even less so.

"Really now." Rebecca let out a soft, cold laugh and shook her head, glancing inside.
