"Not at all!"

Gilbert panicked, eager to prove his innocence, pressing his palm against her belly, "I swear to you and our little one, if I ever betray you, may I lose everything I cherish and end up all alone for the rest of my life!"

Sweet nothings always sound so charming.

Sherilyn's heart fluttered slightly, patting his cheek, "Mr. Gilbert, did you sweeten your lips with honey today?"

"Did I?" Gilbert feigned innocence, "I wouldn't know, why don't you have a taste and find out?"

Saying so, he edged closer to her lips, "Take a bite, see if I did?"

"Stop it! Everyone's looking!"

"Let them look!"

Arriving at the Johnson Mansion, Sylvia had been eagerly waiting at the doorstep.

Upon seeing Sherilyn, she quickly reached out to pull her in, "Sherilyn, my dear, let me have a good look at you."

"Sylvia."

"You've lost weight."

Sylvia shot a glare at Gilbert. "How have you been taking care of her? Sherilyn's face, it's so thin! Aren't you feeding her?"

"Grandma..." Gilbert was at a loss for words.

Francis looked at his brother and laughed. "Well, there goes our status, down another notch."

"Isn't that how it should be?"

Sylvia shot her grandsons a look, "Can you two have babies?"

She carefully guided Sherilyn inside, "Take it slow, dear."

Sylvia was cautious, fearing even the slightest bump. It couldn't be helped; the Johnson family had always been on the smaller side.

After much effort in preserving two grandsons, now that they had provided her with a great-grandchild, all she wished for in her old age was a house full of laughter and children.

Francis glanced at his brother, asking, "Sherilyn's pregnant, what are you planning?"

The implication was clear: he was urging him to tie the knot.

"I've got plans." A smile played on Gilbert's lips. "Actually, I had plans even before Sherilyn got pregnant. The ring's on its way. Once it arrives, I'll need Francis and Sylvia's help..."

A proposal, of course, would need the presence of family - both as a form of support for him and to show Sherilyn her importance to them.
