Whispers Turn to Whimpers: Could He Ever Change? novel Chapter 957

"Sherilyn, sis."

Naomi came up to her, holding an umbrella overhead and then handed her a bottle of water. "Take a break."

"No need," Sherilyn shook her head, "I'm not thirsty."

She reached out her hand, "Phone, please."

"Oh, here you go."

Taking the phone, Sherilyn swiped it open to see a missed call from Galen.

She hadn't picked up, and he had sent a message.

Sherilyn tapped to read it.

[Sis, did my mom come looking for you? Just ignore her, I'll handle it. Don't trouble yourself over me, okay?]

Reading it, her mood didn't lighten but grew heavier instead.

Galen was so different from his parents.

He had saved Jenna and took such good care of her in their everyday lives. This brother truly treated her like family.

Could she really just stand by and do nothing about him?

But how was she supposed to bring it up with Gilbert?

"Ah..."

Sherilyn struggled, unable to stop sighing.

Naomi watched all these, taking it in quietly.

She sneaked off to a corner, took out her phone, and dialed a number.

"Hello, Mr. Charles."

The call was for Charles.

"Hi, Ms. Naomi. Is something troubling Sherilyn?"

"Yeah."

Naomi looked around, speaking cautiously, "Sherilyn's been out of sorts all morning because of this, even got an earful from Mr. Marshall!"

"Is it that serious?" Charles grew tense, pressing for details, "What's the trouble about?"

"Here's the thing..."

This morning, when Naomi went to Sunset Ridge Community to pick up Sherilyn, she had actually arrived early and had overheard most of the conversation between Sherilyn and Malvina.

But, not knowing Malvina, she hadn't fully understood.

"Slow down..."

After getting the gist from Naomi, Charles still needed to guess, "You mentioned someone's business is in trouble, do you know who?"
