The sight of a tall man holding a petite woman in his arms drew more than a few curious stares.
Anathea spotted two of the officers who’d interrogated her earlier. She lowered her head, and her shoulders shuddered faintly.
Gregory felt her body tense and instinctively tightened his hold on her.
The officers who’d brought Anathea back were now all trailing behind Gregory, respectfully escorting him out.
“This way, Mr. Sinclair,” one of them said politely.
Gregory gently placed Anathea in the back seat of the car and closed the door, then walked around to the other side.
Seeing that, the two officers gave a slight nod. “Safe travels, Mr. Sinclair.”
“One more thing.” Gregory paused in his steps. “Could you send me the surveillance footage from the consultation room at the hospital?”
“About that…” One of the officers looked troubled. “When we got the report and went to retrieve the footage, the recording from that particular room was already gone.”
In other words, someone else had gotten to it first.
Gregory’s eyes darkened as he fell into thought. He pulled out his phone and sent a quick message to Dexter, then turned back to the officers.
“I don’t want a single word about what happened today to leak out of here.”
“Don’t worry, Mr. Sinclair.” Both men raised their hands and mimed zipping their lips shut.
Gregory added, “If any other surveillance turns up, send it to me directly.”
“Of course, Mr. Sinclair. We’ll do our best.”
“Appreciate it.” With that, Gregory reached for the door of the car.
“Um… Mr. Sinclair!”
The two officers hesitated for a moment. In the end, they still called out to Gregory and cautiously asked, “We know you posted bond to take Ms. Jacobson with you. But we were just wondering… What exactly is your relationship with her?”
They’d heard rumors about Natalie and Gregory, but from what they’d seen just now, Gregory and Anathea had a whole different kind of chemistry.
Upon hearing that, Gregory pressed his lips together and turned to look at Anathea in the car.
She was leaning against the window with her eyes closed. A strand of hair fell gently across her forehead. Under the glow of the streetlamp, she looked so soft and fragile that it stirred an unexpected tenderness in his heart.
“She’s my wife,” Gregory replied quietly, eyes still on her.
“What?” The two officers stared at each other in shock. They thought they’d misheard.
Seeing the disbelief on their faces, Gregory repeated himself calmly, “Anathea and I are married.”
As he said that, he lifted his left hand. A ring gleamed on his ring finger.
“O–Oh, I see.”
They’d assumed it was just a stylish accessory. They’d never imagined it was a wedding band.
On top of that, the woman who’d been called a mistress in the hospital this whole time turned out to be the legitimate Mrs. Sinclair. The drama in high society really was on another level,

Gregory’s gaze swept over the two of them. “This information…”
“Don’t worry, Mr. Sinclair! Our lips are sealed!” The officers promised earnestly and nodded respectfully. “Safe travels, Mr. and Mrs. Sinclair.”
