Chapter 155
Gregory paised for a moment at Adrian’s words. He sightened his grip on his phone and replied coldly, “I’m coming over now.” In the garage, the silver–black Maybach gleamed under the lights
“Who would’ve thought this car would end up rear–ending someone like that?” Adrian clicked his tongue. “I remember your driving skills were always top–notch. How could you crash this body?”
Gregory didn’t answer, but Adrian didn’t need him to. He quickly accessed the Maybach’s dashcam footage and saw the scene from the accident.
“My God, you actually did it on purpose?” Adrian exclaimed. “Greg you’ve got quite the temper!”
Gregory pressed his lips together. His tone was laced with displeasure as he asked, “You called me here just to show me this?” “Of course not,” Adrian chuckled. “Let’s see what really pushed the usually unflappable Mr. Sinclair to lose control.” As he said that, he pushed the laptop toward Gregory and hit the play button.
The video showed Anathea and Thomas maintaining a normal distance. After the car came to a stop, Anathea simply thanked him and prepared to leave.
Thomas called her back, mentioning that she had cream on her face and offering to clean it off. He tilted his head to one side, which, from Gregory’s angle, had made it look like they were about to kiss. In reality, they were still nearly eight inches apart.
Gregory froze.
“Oh, isn’t this the classic camera angle trick?” Adrian mused, resting his chin on his hand as he watched Gregory. “You must’ve thought they were about to kiss, huh?”
Yes, he had.
Gregory pressed his lips tightly together as he stared intently at Anathea on the screen. At that moment, her every action and expression was within proper boundaries.
But Thomas…
“Rewind it,” Gregory suddenly ordered.
Adrian was confused, but he still complied and rewound the video.
“Stop.” Gregory pointed at Anathea’s face. “Zoom in.”
Adrian did as instructed.
Anathea’s features were strikingly beautiful. Even with the blurry resolution, her beauty still shone through.
But Adrian didn’t think Gregory was just admiring his wife’s looks. “What’s going on?”
Gregory said nothing at first. As he looked at Anathea’s clean face, he said, “She doesn’t have cream on her face.”
Upon hearing that, Adrian glanced over and raised an eyebrow. “You’re right.”
“That Morgenstein guy was trying to hit on her!” Gregory came to a conclusion. His brows drew together in a frown.
It turned out Thomas had deliberately created an excuse to get close to Anathea. She’d had no idea. And Gregory had believed she was cheating on him, so he’d refused to listen to her explanation and even gone so far as to humiliate her with both his actions and words.
The memory of that night flooded back. He’d pinned Anathea beneath him, and she’d had no way to defend herself. Her face had been pale, streaked with tears, and her eyes had held nothing but disappointment and despair.
