The legendary Gregory, who was known for being cold and untouchable, had just picked up a woman in front of everyone. Let me go!Anathea pounded on his chest. She struggled hard and kicked her legs in protest.

But to Gregory, her resistance was about as effective as hitting a pillow. He quickly told Martin to take Xander away. Then, he strode off with Anathea still in his arms, leaving behind a crowd of dumbfounded reporters and bystanders.

Gregory! If you don’t put me down right now, I’m calling the cops for harassmept!Anathea snapped coldly once they got outside. We’re not in Castanea. You can’t just do whatever you want here!

Gregory narrowed his eyes. Harassment?

He pulled open the car door and set her down. Anathea instantly tried to bolt, but he grabbed her wrists and pinned her against the leather seat, slamming the door shut behind them.

In the tight space, the familiar scent of cedar from his body filled her nose.

She hated that she immediately thought of all the times she’d smelled it beforein his bed, when he wore her out to the point of exhaustion, when he’d rest his chiseled face against her shoulder, his short hair brushing her nose with that same cedar smell.

Shame burned through her at the memory, and she used all her strength to kick him.

Gregory reacted faster than she thought possible. He pinned her leg down with his knee, trapping her.

Funny, you didn’t seem to mind when you were under me before. Now it’s harassment?Gregory sneered. Anathea, you’re such a hypocrite,he added, his tone dripping with mockery.

Anathea felt a sharp sting inside, but she gritted her teeth and forced herself to stay calm.

What do you even want, Gregory?

I should be asking you that.

Gregory grabbed her chin tightly, his gaze turning colder. How long are you planning to keep playing this gameleaving a divorce agreement behind and disappearing with a kid? How cliche can you get?

Anathea’s heart trembled at his words.

How did he know she was pregnant?

The hospital called me, Anathea. You listed me as your emergency contact,Gregory said with a cold laugh.

Wasn’t this exactly what you wanted? Didn’t you want me to find out and see how I’d react?

Well, she’d succeededshe made him lose control.

Even now, he could still remember the sharp sting when the rose thorn had pricked his hand. It was a pain Anathea had caused.

As he looked at the faux innocent look on her face, his anger boiled over.

Anathea, how did I never realize you could be this manipulative? He tightened his grip on her chin, making her wince in pain.

Let goAnathea tried to push his hand away, but he quickly grabbed her wrist again.

“Where’s your wedding ring?” he growled, eyes locked onto her bare finger.

He’d warned her before that she better not even think about selling the ring.

Anathea froze for half a second.
