“How juvenile,” Anathea parted her lips and chided.

Then, she took the medal from Gregory before entering the front door of the villa.

“What did Mom say just now, Dad?” Xander hadn’t caught what Anathea said and turned to look at Gregory with large, sparkling eyes full of expectation. “Did she say the medal was pretty?”

Upon hearing this, Gregory leaned down and ruffled Xander’s hair. He lied smoothly, “She said you were being juvenile.” Xander looked confused. “Huh?”

Gregory gave the kid a wry smile, then said nothing as he followed Anathea into the villa.

Seeing this, Xander hurried after them. “Mom, Dad, wait for me!”

From a distance, the sight of the two male figures–one towering and the other childlike–bounding after Anathea’s beautiful silhouette made for quite the stunning family portrait.

The gardener trimming the hedges saw this and quickly snapped a photo of it on his phone. He then forwarded it to someone with a text that read, “Looks like Mr. and Mrs. Sinclair have made up.”

Eleanor was sitting in the VIP lounge of Castenea Central Hospital when she saw the gardener’s text and scowled.

At that moment, Natalie returned from her checkup and asked, “What’s wrong, Eleanor?”

Eleanor had seemed fine when Natalie left for her tests earlier, but now she looked thunderous.

“Tell me, when I explicitly told Gregory to invite you to dance at your birthday party the other evening, did you make the best out of it?” Eleanor demanded snarkily.

She’d already laid the groundwork for Natalie and even skipped out on the party to give her privacy. She’d entrusted Natalie with her plan without a doubt!

Natalie went still as guilt flashed in her eyes.

She dared not tell Eleanor that she’d blown her chance at the party, which the latter had thrown for her to help her shine and fit in with the socialites and heiresses of Castena.

Natalie couldn’t let Eleanor know that she’d become the laughingstock of the party after Gregory abandoned her in front of everyone and left with Anathea.

“Why are you suddenly bringing up the party, Eleanor?” Natalie asked tentatively.

Little did she know that Eleanor took her evasive response as an admission of her failure.

Eleanor’s frown deepened. “You’ve truly let me down this time, Nat!”

Natalie blanched at this and immediately lowered her head, apologizing, “I’m sorry, Eleanor! I slipped up, but I promise I’ll find other ways to get close to Gregory!”

After all, Gregory’s sudden interest in Anathea was probably just because he hadn’t seen her for too long. He would dump her in no time.

After all, he’d been married to Anathea for six years and didn’t love her at all. Natalie doubted he would suddenly fall in love with

Anathea in such a short time.
