Chapter 260

Gregory hadn’t even wanted to wear the pants Natalie had touched. He’d walked out in just a hotel bathrobe, leaving her sitting on the floor, utterly humiliated.
She’d thought Gregory had a personal condition. Otherwise, how could he have had no reaction to her at all?
But now that she thought about it, every time her seduction had failed, Gregory had probably gone straight to Anathea afterward. Every single one of her carefully laid plans had only benefitted Anathea.
She’d even kept fooling herself. She’d staged photos and dabbed lipstick on her chest and collarbone to fake the marks of passion with Gregory just to flaunt them in front of Anathea.
How ridiculous!
In the end, she was the complete and utter fool!
Natalie was nearly consumed with jealousy. “Why? Why would Greg touch Anathea when he doesn’t even like her? Why can .Anathea give birth to one child and get pregnant with another? Why can’t I? Why?”
She repeated the same questions over and over in a broken voice, on the verge of a meltdown.
Eleanor looked at her miserable state and clicked her tongue. “Enough. What’s the point now? Even if you die from anger, it’s useless!”
“But I can’t accept this, Eleanor!” Natalie looked up at Eleanor with red, tear–filled eyes.
“Ever since Greg and I were young, I was the one who was always there for him. He once wanted to marry me. I love him so much. How could he choose another woman?”
“You love him?” Eleanor snorted as if she’d just heard a joke and tore through her act without mercy.
“Oh, please. Stop pretending to be some kind of pure, devoted lover. You said you love him, but that didn’t stop you from getting involved with another man when he went abroad for further studies, did it?”
As soon as those words left Eleanor’s mouth, Natalie’s face went pale. A chill crept down her spine, and her knees buckled as she dropped in front of Eleanor.
“Eleanor, I didn’t mean to betray Greg!”
But in truth, she’d absolutely meant to.
She just couldn’t stand Gregory’s coldness and distance anymore, so when he’d gone abroad, she’d sought out someone else to
blow off steam.
She had physical needs too, and Gregory’s attitude had been suffocating her.
Hence, she’d found another man. But by the time Gregory returned from abroad, she’d already ended it with the other man. Fleeting pleasure meant nothing compared to the benefits that came with being Gregory’s wife. At worst, she could always play around in secret after she married Gregory.
She thought she’d been discreet, but Eleanor had caught her.
Natalie trembled as she knelt before Eleanor, her shoulders shaking in fear. “Eleanor, I can explain…”
Surprisingly, Eleanor crossed her arms and said in disdain, “What’s there to explain? So what if you did it? Back in the day, I had a thing with Holden and still married another man while pregnant with Gregory. Later, I got divorced and brought Gregory back
to Holden’s side.
