Chapter 262

I’ll help you,said Gregory.

Anathea looked up at him strangely, in disbelief that he’d actually said that.

He was acting too strangely. This wasn’t the cold and distant Gregory she used to know at all. He was so considerate it was almost unbelievable.

Without a second thought, she refused. No need.

But I want to.

As soon as Gregory said that, he bent down and scooped her up in s arms before she could react.

Gregory! Put me down!Anathea cried out, startled.

No.

Gregory carried her straight into the bathroom.

The bathtub was already filled with hot water, with steam rising from it. There was also a chair beside it.

Everything had already been prepared in advance. Gregory had been waiting for Anathea to go wash up so he could help her under perfectly reasonable pretenses.

He even had a noblesounding excuse ready. It’ll be hard for you to do it by yourself. If you catch a cold or bump into something, that would be bad. So, give me a chance. Let me help you, okay?

Gregory sounded sincere.

Anathea didn’t respond, nor did she reject him again.

If someone was offering to serve her, why not let him?

Gregory took her silence as acquiescence. The corners of his lips curved slightly as he stepped in front of her and reached toward her chest.

Anathea’s lashes fluttered as she took a step back, her tone stiff. I’ll undress myself.

Annie, don’t be shy. We’ve been married for six years,Gregory uttered warmly, gently wrapping his arm around her shoulder.

As he began unbuttoning her clothes, he tactfully turned his head away, not wanting her to feel uncomfortable.

Then, he picked up a clip from the sink and helped pin up her loose hair.

I practiced in my office for two hours. I made some progress, don’t you think?Gregory asked, fishing for praise.

Anathea remained expressionless. You must have a lot of free time, Mr. Sinclair.

I don’t. I had two international video conferences today and even attended the ribboncutting ceremony for a new project. My total break time didn’t even add up to 20 minutes. I practiced under the table during one of the meetings. Those foreigners couldn’t see or understand anyway.

Anathea didn’t know what to say.

Gregory just smiled and walked behind her. He picked up a towel soaked in lukewarm water before pulling down the robe draped over her shoulders, revealing her fair, smooth skin.

The towel touched her shoulders. Anathea trembled slightly and instinctively shrank away.

Is it too hot?Gregory asked with concern.

Yeah.Anathea lowered her gaze, clearly uncomfortable.

Gregory quickly adjusted the water temperature. The towel, now just right, fell gently on her skin. He moved tenderly, as if he were handling a fragile treasure.

Out of the corner of her eye, Anathea caught their reflection in the mirror. He looked at her so gently, it felt unreal.
