Everyone looked at the solid gold piece with waves of admiration and envy. They’d seen extravagant things before, but never anything like this.
“See? Once Mr. Sinclair makes a move, he goes all out,” someone commented.
“Yeah, and the design of that piece is the exact one Nat won the gold prize with at the competition. It’s so meaningful. Mr. Sinclair put a lot of thought into this!”
“Exactly, Mr. Sinclair treats Nat so well! I’m so jealous!”
“Seriously? Did they get paid to hype Gregory up?” Evangeline muttered under her breath.
Anathea shrugged.
Gregory was evidently pleased by the compliments, as he smiled faintly. “All of you here are my wife’s colleagues, and I appreciate how you’ve looked out for her. So, I’ve prepared some gifts for everyone.”
As soon as he finished speaking, Martin led a few people pushing carts loaded with a wide variety of gift boxes from luxury brands. Each one was worth five figures at minimum.
Everyone’s eyes lit up.
“Wow, you really went all out. Thank you, Mr. Sinclair!”
“I hope your marriage remains strong and happy!” someone else wished.
The others followed suit. “I hope your marriage remains strong and happy!”
“Thank you all,” Gregory said smoothly as he stepped to stand beside Anathea. He promptly and unceremoniously edged Theo aside.
Theo frowned and mumbled, “What a damn time to show up.”
Meanwhile, Gregory leaned toward Anathea with a gentle smile. “Do you like the gift?”
Anathea remained composed. “Why are you here?”
She hadn’t told him anything about them moving to a new office. She hadn’t expected him to find out, much less make such a high–profile appearance.
“I missed you,” Gregory replied, glancing sideways at Theo. He added meaningfully, “If I hadn’t shown up, someone might’ve stolen you away.”
Anathea pretended not to understand and said nothing.
Theo, on the other hand, couldn’t hold back. He stepped forward to come face–to–face with Gregory, narrowing his eyes.
For a moment, the tension between the two of them peaked.
The atmosphere instantly froze. Everyone exchanged glances, cautiously watching the two intimidating men. They were unsure what to do.
One wrong move, and anyone nearby might get caught in the fallout.
Finally, just as someone was about to step in and defuse the situation, Theo spoke first. “Let’s talk outside.”
Gregory didn’t reply, but the way he silently rolled up his sleeves made it clear he was more than ready.
Before anyone had time to react, they walked out the door one after the other and entered the elevator. The elevator doors slowly closed, cutting off everyone’s view.

Evangeline, gifted with a strong sixth sense, walked over to Anathea and gave her a nudge. “Nat, maybe you should go take a look. It won’t be good if something happens.”
