Why the Crocodile Tears (by Flower Sock) novel Chapter 309

Hannah said nothing, but her fingers curled tighter.

The rules between them had been set from their very first deal. Dominic had imposed those rules personally.

Back then, Hannah had been utterly drained because Leon had been threatening her grandparents to demand money from her. Leon demanded 30 million dollars from her as repayment for all the years he supposedly raised her. But when had he ever cared for her? It was always her grandparents who raised her from childhood.

She fiercely argued back, but Leon sneered coldly. You’re lucky to have the looks I gave you that helped you make money. Without that, you wouldn’t even get a decent price selling yourself at a club. And you want to be a big star? Dream on!

You’re just a useless woman. I already showed great mercy by not abandoning you when you were born. Otherwise, you wouldn’t be alive now to dream of being a star. And now you won’t even repay me? You’re just as worthless as your mother!Leon, Hannah’s biological father, who never cared for her since birth, delivered those words like daggers, humiliating her. He made it clear that everything she had was because he’d once spared her life on a whim. Otherwise, she wouldn’t even deserve to exist. She should be grateful to him.

But at that time, Hannah had just landed her first leading role. How could she possibly come up with 30 million dollars?

Yet that leech cared nothing for her situation. He threatened that if she didn’t pay, she and her grandparents wouldn’t have an easy life anymore.

In the end, her elderly, ailing grandparents used their frail bodies to hold Leon back and told Hannah to run as far as she could and never come back.

Hannah no longer remembered how she escaped that alley. She only remembered the heavy rain pounding down on her, blurring her vision.

She couldn’t see anything, but she didn’t dare stop moving because behind her was a bottomless abyss.

She didn’t know how far she ran or for how long. Her feet were raw and bloody from the rough stones, but she felt no pain. Suddenly, the screeching brakes of a speeding car filled her ears.

She didn’t have time to look up before a gust of wind swept her off her feet. She fell hard with a th shattered.

A metallic taste filled her mouth. Blood dripped from her limbs and her head, but she felt nothing.

Her spine felt like it had

As she slipped into unconsciousness, her blurry eyes cleared briefly. She saw the car before hera black Ferrari. The prancing horse emblem on its hood remained proud and defiant even under the heavy rain.

It was an incredibly expensive car.

She’d wondered how many roles she would have to film before she could afford to ride in a car like that.

But that time, she didn’t need much money to get in that caralthough it wasn’t by choice.

A strong arm quickly lifted her up. The man holding her carried a luxury scent. She recognized it immediately. It was the Ferrari fragrance she’d once endorsed.

Even though her body was broken and bloodied, she couldn’t help but think that maybe this was a small compensation from God for her suffering.

After a demonic, greedy father, she’d finally met a devoted man. He was so devoted even to the brand he wore.

Then, she heard a flurry of voices nearby.
