After that, Gregory poured a glass of warm water and brought over calcium tablets, DHA, and other vitamins, placing them in front of Anathea.
She took the pills and swallowed them with warm water. Gregory took the cup from her hand and then used a handkerchief to gently wipe the water from the corners of her lips!
Out of the corner of her eye, Anathea caught sight of the embroidery on the handkerchief. She froze for a moment. It was the same handkerchief from before, the one embroidered with the word “Nat“.
Suddenly, she felt a wave of resistance and turned her face away, not wanting to be touched by it.
“What’s wrong?” Gregory asked, puzzled.
Anathea pressed her lips together. She didn’t want to waste energy on a mere handkerchief, but the words Shirley had said echoed in her mind.
“Don’t forget, your husband’s had his fair share of rumors too. Especially with Ms. Whitman…”
Natalie was like a thorn piercing Anathea’s heart. She tried to ignore it, but the thorn remained stuck in her wound, constantly inflamed and oozing.
Anathea bit her lip, determined to pull out that thorn. Her tone was cold as she said, “I don’t want to use something another woman has used.”
“What?” Gregory paused for a moment.
Anathea didn’t think he hadn’t heard her. She believed he was just pretending not to understand. She exhaled and pointed to the handkerchief in his hand. “This handkerchief is Natalie’s, isn’t it?”

She was actually eager to see his reaction.
If Gregory responded in either of those ways, it would prove he still had feelings for Natalie and just an act. Even his reckless moves to protect Anathea were simply a strategy to trap her in this marriage.
ll his recent kindness was
If that were true, then Anathea’s choice to insist on divorce would have been right. A man like Gregory wasn’t worth her looking back for.
This was the selfish reasoning she used to ease her guilt.
Anathea watched him carefully, not wanting to miss any subtle change in his expression.
But unexpectedly, Gregory suddenly laughed.
Anathea was stunned. This was far from the reaction she’d anticipated.
“What are you laughing at?” She frowned. “Do you think it’s funny that I asked that?”
“Yes.” Gregory nodded and reached out to pinch her cheek. His tone was teasing as he said, “A little.”
“Gregory!” Anathea snapped, pulling her hand free with a sharp tone. “Get out!”
She didn’t want to see him right now. She thought it was a serious question, but he found it funny?

Of course, he didn’t even realize what was wrong with a married man keeping another woman’s handkerchief. He probably thought it was completely normal. And her question had become a ridiculous joke in his eyes.
Anathea took a deep breath to calm herself down. She told herself it wasn’t a big deal. This was exactly the outcome she’d hoped
