Chapter 348
“Mrs. Sinclair Senior, slow down!” exclaimed Marie Wood, a maid worriedly.
“If we slow down any more, Nat’s going to be in real trouble!” Brisa replied anxiously.

“They’re trying to kill Nat all for the family’s damn pride. Nat was raised spoiled and protected by her parents and elders. “She’s kind by nature, and after marrying Gregory, he deliberately kept her away from the Sinclairs‘ rotten mess. He never let her get involved in that filthy swamp. Nat can’t possibly handle those monsters out for blood!”
Brisa, supported by Marie, was hurrying toward the private chapel. But just as they reached the entrance, they saw Gregory walking in with a group of bodyguards.
Brisa came to a stop.
“What’s wrong, Mrs. Sinclair Senior?” Marie asked, puzzled.
Brisa stared at Gregory’s back and let out a breath of relief. “Let’s go back.”
“Huh?”
“I forgot Nat has someone protecting her now. He kept his word.” Brisa’s eyes were filled with comfort.
On the eve of Gregory and Anathea’s wedding, Brisa had asked Gregory how he planned to treat Anathea in the future.
He had replied calmly, “I won’t love her, but I can keep her safe.”
Anathea looked at the figure slowly approaching her, momentarily speechless.
Gregory had changed out of his bloodstained shirt. Apart from looking a bit pale, there was no sign of injury. But there was a faint scent of antiseptic on him.
“You’re talking nonsense! I’m not harming anyone!” Theo snapped. When he saw how Anathea looked at Gregory, he couldn’t help feeling upset.
Even though Gregory was the one who’d warned Theo ahead of time to come save Anathea, he still felt reluctant to let go.
“You were willing to let my wife suffer punishment according to the family’s rules because of you. Isn’t that harming her?” Gregory retorted.
Theo froze. In truth, he’d only wanted Anathea to know how sincere he was. As for the punishment, he thought he could shield her from it and keep her from being hurt.
That had to be better than her being beaten with a stick as thick as a wrist, right?
But Gregory had torn that idea to shreds. What Theo called sincerity was nothing more than selfishness to Gregory–a desire to carve a place for himself in Anathea’s heart.
Sensing the tension between Gregory and Theo, Charlotte quickly spoke up. “Lennox, this whole mess started because of Anathea. Please, do something!”
“Exactly! It’s all her fault!” Eleanor quickly chimed in, pointing at anathea. “She married Gregory but seduced Theo. She and the bastard in her belly can’t be allowed to stay!”
“You don’t get to decide that!” Gregory immediately shot back at Eleanor.
Eleanor was momentarily stunned but then put on a heartbroken expression. “Gregory, I’m only doing this for your own good. This woman’s been involved with another man, and you still defend her! You don’t even know who the baby’s father is.”
“So what?” Gregory’s cold gaze swept across everyone present before settling on Anathea. His tone was commanding.

“She’s my wife–her child is my child.”
For a moment, Anathea’s eyes rippled with emotion.
Eleanor frowned. She hadn’t expected Gregory would still stand so firmly on Anathea’s side even after hearing that the child
wasn’t his.
He wasn’t like this before.
