Chapter 356
“Why?” Anathea asked, confused.
Jenny shook her head. She truly didn’t know, but that was what Gregory had instructed.
Anathea grew a little anxious, and a sharp pain suddenly shot through her abdomen. “Ah…”
She clutched her stomach, her brow furrowing.

“Mrs. Sinclair, are you alright?” Seeing the color drain from Anathea’s face, Jenny quickly went to get the doctor. “Dr. Anderson!
Louie had already been on standby. He hurried in when he heard Jenny call for him.
“Where does it hurt?” he asked Anathea.
“My stomach… It hurts…” A sheen of cold sweat appeared on Anathea’s forehead.
Louie immediately began preparing an IV drip.
Anathea knew Louie was Gregory’s close friend, so she cooperated and extended her arm for the needle. As the needle pierced her vein, Anathea bit her lip, her fingers curling instinctively.
“Relax,” Louie said calmly.
Once the drip rate was adjusted, the still–pale Anathea asked, “Is my baby okay?”
“Your baby will be fine if you just stay in bed, rest well, and avoid overthinking.” Louie glanced at her.
Seeing the visible relief in her eyes at hearing the baby was safe and how she didn’t seem to care about anything else, he frowned. “I don’t get it. Gregory’s seriously injured, yet he still had me stay here to watch over you. Why?”
He was venting his frustration on Gregory’s behalf.
Anathea froze. The memory of Gregory rushing to save her flashed through her mind. She felt conflicted as she asked hesitantly, “How is Gregory?”
“He’s fine and alive,” Louie said expressionlessly.
“He got stabbed in the abdomen, his right hand was shredded by glass, his back was torn open by lashes, and a metal rod pierced through the left side of his back, narrowly missing his heart. But hey, he’s still alive.”
Anathea stiffened, her fingers slowly tightening.
“Louie, don’t scare her, or Greg’s going to make you pay for it,” Adrian uttered as he wheeled himself to the door.
Louie scoffed. “How’s he going to do that when he’s practically half–dead?”
He then turned to Jenny and instructed, “Keep an eye on the IV. If there’s any backflow, Gregory will come for my head.”
Jenny didn’t like his sarcastic tone, but she still nodded. “Alright.
Louie glanced at Anathea, who was half–lying in bed, then turned and left without another word.
“Don’t mind him. Louie’s always been like that,” Adrian said gently.
“He hasn’t been back in a long time, and the first thing he saw when he returned was Greg in such a state, He was just too worried about Greg and ended up taking it out on you.”
Anathea nodded slightly, indicating she understood.
Louie and Gregory had always been close, just like Anathea and Hannah. If Anathea had been the one injured, she knew Hannah would’ve reacted the same way.
