Chapter 2073
“But…”
Joshua’s gaze turned dark as he stared at a distance. “If someone were to abduct her, this means that she has an accomplice.”
Then, he turned to glance at Luna. “Do you remember what I asked Charlotte just now at the orphanage?”
Luna furrowed her brows and contemplated this for a moment. “You asked her if she knows someone named Sirius.”
Joshua smiled when he heard this.
He reached out to gently stroke Luna’s hair and replied tenderly, “You have a good memory.
“The reason I asked her if she knew him was not that I didn’t have that information, but instead, I had already guessed it myself and was just giving her a chance to come clean with the truth.
“The fact that she refused to tell the truth means that she treasured this person so much that she was willing to go to jail than expose Sirius’s true identity.
“And now that she has been kidnapped…”
Joshua curled his lips into a faint, cold smile. “Even though Charlotte being abducted won’t tell us who Sirius is nor will it prove that they know each other, at least it lets us know that someone in Merchant City still cares about her.
“Not only that, but there’s a high probability that this person is Sirius, or at least someone related to him.”
Luna fell silent upon hearing this.
She considered this for a long time before finally understanding the logic of this sequence of
events.
A split second later, she smacked her forehead in realization and exclaimed at the top of her lungs, “Are you thinking that the Quinn family is related to Sirius?”
According to the evidence they had, they could safely conclude that Charlotte and Sirius had been working together all along.
Otherwise, how would a woman in her early twenties, who had grown up an orphan, be able to obtain evidence of Todd killing Colin Landry in the past and even use this to threaten him?
This meant that it was likely that Sirius had been looking out for Charlotte all this while.
Charlotte was taken away right under their noses, and the person who kidnapped her could
very well be Sirius. Regardless, the people who took her away were the Quinn family.
This pointed toward one possibility: Sirius was probably involved with the Quinn family.
However, Luna had been rescued by Malcolm ever since her accident six years ago.
She had been close with the Quinn family in the next six years of her recovery and subsequent childbirth, so much so that at one point, she had almost become their daughter-in-law.
However, she had never even heard of the name ‘Sirius’ before, much less met him in real life.
On the other hand, she was more than familiar with the name Quentin since she had heard Granny Quinn bring up this adopted son of hers many times.
According to what Luna had heard, Quentin had been forced to leave Merchant City after committing an unforgivable mistake years ago. It was only after both Malcolm and Hunter had gotten in trouble that he was allowed to return.
“Don’t you think that Quentin and Charlotte’s returns seem a little coincidental?” Joshua hinted.
A lightbulb went off in Luna’s head.
Joshua was right! Charlotte and Quentin had returned to Merchant City at almost the same time!
With the two of them found to be involved, it would mean that…
· Luna lifted her head to stare dazedly at Joshua. “If Quentin and Sirius are, in fact, the same
person, everything would make sense.”
However…
They knew for a fact that Quentin and Sirius were two different people, not because of their names, but because… Quentin and Sirius had appeared together in the past…

The readers' comments on the novel: Will you marry me, My Ex-Wife (Luna and Joshua)
Luna is sooo stupid!...
This story line is sickening… her children, Nellie in particular, do not like Malcolm. She is already married to Joshua, the father of her children who loves her more than Malcolm ever could. Just disgusting....
Another “misunderstanding”…… poor Luna, why can’t she just say the Quinns kidnapped me instead of assuming Joshua is doing the wrong thing. Terrible....
I sure hope Aura gets arrested and pays for her many crimes soon, along with Adrian and Michael. Joshua and Luna need peace with their children....
Joshua is stupid, he says he loves Luna but refuses to tell her the truth thinking he can never recover from all the deceit, if he told the truth he could redeem himself and live a happy life with his family rather than continue to protect a bunch of evil criminals. Terrible decisions by a man who is smart enough to run a multi faceted company....
Omg this author is twisted!! When does Luna catch a break! This is awful. Aurasnd Fiona are evil, evil women and are using the children to commit their crimes 🤬...
And now the author has made it sound like he cares more for Fiona who he has only known a couple of weeks than Luna, his wife, the love of his life. Stupid and pathetically disgusting....
Wow, making Joshua out to be so stupid, ugh. Yes he told this horrible bitch he would accompany her until she died, but she lied about her fake illness so I guess he’ll have to live with her forever! He also promised to love, honor and cherish his wife Luna however seems to forget that with each passing malicious mistress, Aura, Alice and now Fiona. Awful. Let’s get past this into some storyline that involves some happiness for Luna… the only woman who truly cares for and loves him. Get rid of Fiona, soon....
So disgusted with this Fiona storyline, hope it doesn’t last much longer. Joshua told her when they made the deal he had someone in his heart and would not sleep with her. They could be faking a relationship and he doesn’t have to be so nasty to Luna and the kids. It’s heartbreaking and giving him another ridiculous relationship is unnecessary. Just makes more misunderstandings for Luna and harder for her to forgive him....
Joshua is in the wrong, even if Fiona asked him to keep their fake relationship a secret he should have told Luna what was going on. After all, supposedly he lives Luna and the children and is doing this for them. Being deceiving is not working for him....
