Chapter 2400
Luna narrowed her eyes upon hearing this. She pulled Nellie closer to her and met Thomas' gaze, sneering.
"So the reason you got in touch with Joey to set up an urgent meeting with me...was to insult me in person?"
Luna knew she had been behaving impulsively and should have noticed the observations that Nellie had made, but it was almost impossible for her to remain calm in a situation where her child's safety was at risk. She had been questioning Thomas' motives since the beginning, and when he expressed his longing to have Nellie become his daughter and get to know her better...she could not help putting her guard up.She had already lost a daughter; she could not allow herself to lose another.
She did not want to go through the pain of losing her daughter— or the immense sorrow she had experienced when she thought Neil had died—once more.
This was why she had placed all her attention on protecting Nellie and overlooked the fact that Thomas had not expressed any signs of adoration toward Nellie at all, as he claimed.
"Why are you so apprehensive toward me, Ms.Luna?"
Thomas chuckled when he noticed Luna's rage, then crossed his legs elegantly and said, "After all, no matter what happens, I'm sure we'll become business partners anyway."
Luna narrowed her eyes.
"I don't feel like working with you anymore, Mr.Howard."
If Thomas Howard were to become her ambassador, there was no doubt it would be a great help to the start of her career, but...
She would do perfectly fine, even without his help! Luna was confident that her career would be smooth sailing, even if she did not reestablish her career with her old pseudonym, Moon, or enlist Thomas Howard's help.
After all, she was experienced and possessed natural talent in jewelry design, so she knew she would be able to succeed eventually.
She did not have to force herself to work with someone she did not like just to speed up the process.
"Is that so?"

The readers' comments on the novel: Will you marry me, My Ex-Wife (Luna and Joshua)
Luna is sooo stupid!...
This story line is sickening… her children, Nellie in particular, do not like Malcolm. She is already married to Joshua, the father of her children who loves her more than Malcolm ever could. Just disgusting....
Another “misunderstanding”…… poor Luna, why can’t she just say the Quinns kidnapped me instead of assuming Joshua is doing the wrong thing. Terrible....
I sure hope Aura gets arrested and pays for her many crimes soon, along with Adrian and Michael. Joshua and Luna need peace with their children....
Joshua is stupid, he says he loves Luna but refuses to tell her the truth thinking he can never recover from all the deceit, if he told the truth he could redeem himself and live a happy life with his family rather than continue to protect a bunch of evil criminals. Terrible decisions by a man who is smart enough to run a multi faceted company....
Omg this author is twisted!! When does Luna catch a break! This is awful. Aurasnd Fiona are evil, evil women and are using the children to commit their crimes 🤬...
And now the author has made it sound like he cares more for Fiona who he has only known a couple of weeks than Luna, his wife, the love of his life. Stupid and pathetically disgusting....
Wow, making Joshua out to be so stupid, ugh. Yes he told this horrible bitch he would accompany her until she died, but she lied about her fake illness so I guess he’ll have to live with her forever! He also promised to love, honor and cherish his wife Luna however seems to forget that with each passing malicious mistress, Aura, Alice and now Fiona. Awful. Let’s get past this into some storyline that involves some happiness for Luna… the only woman who truly cares for and loves him. Get rid of Fiona, soon....
So disgusted with this Fiona storyline, hope it doesn’t last much longer. Joshua told her when they made the deal he had someone in his heart and would not sleep with her. They could be faking a relationship and he doesn’t have to be so nasty to Luna and the kids. It’s heartbreaking and giving him another ridiculous relationship is unnecessary. Just makes more misunderstandings for Luna and harder for her to forgive him....
Joshua is in the wrong, even if Fiona asked him to keep their fake relationship a secret he should have told Luna what was going on. After all, supposedly he lives Luna and the children and is doing this for them. Being deceiving is not working for him....
