At ten in the morning, in Merchant City's Central Hospital, two surgeries were conducted at the same time.
One was an organ transplant surgery for Gwen.
The other was the removal of organs from Luke.
Joshua and Jim stayed outside Luke's surgery room with a heavy expression on their faces.
The most helpless thing in the world was to helplessly sit and watch one's friend dying.
They could not stop Luke from trying to save Gwen, and neither could they wipe away his deep feelings for Gwen.
The only thing they could do was wait for his lifeless body to be wheeled out and give him a proper burial.
"If only Luke had a twin brother," muttered Jim while leaning against the chair.
If Luke had a twin brother, would his twin brother's organ be a successful match with Gwen's, too? Could it be...
Joshua turned and swept him a cold gaze.
"What does it matter if he has a twin brother? Are you planning to get Luke to convince his twin brother to die for the woman that he loves, just so that he could be with her?"
Jim was taken aback by Joshua's words.
After a while, he lowered his head.
"I'm sorry.I was overthinking things."
It was because he missed Luke that he spoke out of line.
Joshua sighed and said nothing as he stared at the door to the surgery room.He knew Jim bore no ill intent with his words.He, too, was heartbroken for Luke.
They would have never let Luke die like this if they had any other alternatives.
Alas, countless research led them to dead ends.
Gwen was the light of Luke's life.She was the woman he loved and revered the most in his entire life, so they could not stop Luke from sacrificing himself.
The best they could and should do was to respect his wish.
"I hope that Gwen won't be sick in their next life and that Luke...won't be so miserable," Jim said after a moment.

Luna is sooo stupid!...
This story line is sickening… her children, Nellie in particular, do not like Malcolm. She is already married to Joshua, the father of her children who loves her more than Malcolm ever could. Just disgusting....

Joshua is stupid, he says he loves Luna but refuses to tell her the truth thinking he can never recover from all the deceit, if he told the truth he could redeem himself and live a happy life with his family rather than continue to protect a bunch of evil criminals. Terrible decisions by a man who is smart enough to run a multi faceted company....
Omg this author is twisted!! When does Luna catch a break! This is awful. Aurasnd Fiona are evil, evil women and are using the children to commit their crimes 🤬...
And now the author has made it sound like he cares more for Fiona who he has only known a couple of weeks than Luna, his wife, the love of his life. Stupid and pathetically disgusting....
Wow, making Joshua out to be so stupid, ugh. Yes he told this horrible bitch he would accompany her until she died, but she lied about her fake illness so I guess he’ll have to live with her forever! He also promised to love, honor and cherish his wife Luna however seems to forget that with each passing malicious mistress, Aura, Alice and now Fiona. Awful. Let’s get past this into some storyline that involves some happiness for Luna… the only woman who truly cares for and loves him. Get rid of Fiona, soon....
So disgusted with this Fiona storyline, hope it doesn’t last much longer. Joshua told her when they made the deal he had someone in his heart and would not sleep with her. They could be faking a relationship and he doesn’t have to be so nasty to Luna and the kids. It’s heartbreaking and giving him another ridiculous relationship is unnecessary. Just makes more misunderstandings for Luna and harder for her to forgive him....
Joshua is in the wrong, even if Fiona asked him to keep their fake relationship a secret he should have told Luna what was going on. After all, supposedly he lives Luna and the children and is doing this for them. Being deceiving is not working for him....
