Chapter 2667 It was their superstitious beliefs that led them to abandon Luke as a baby!
“Five years ago, Steven Hughes got involved in an accident and wound up in a coma, and because of this, the Hughes family requested our help tracking down their lost child,” Mr. Miller continued. “Of course, Mr. Lynch, you know that Miller Group has substantial resources in the medical field, but not only that, both our families had a marriage agreement since a long time ago as well. “Therefore, the Hughes family agreed that if we helped Steven wake up from his coma, they‘d let their son marry our precious Kate.” Joshua narrowed his eyes and tapped his slender fingers lightly against the coffee table. “So this was how you found Luke?”
Mr. Miller nodded. “That‘s right. About a year ago, Luke came to seek our help, and just the first glance at him shocked us all to our cores. He and Steven were like carbon copies of each other!
“We‘ve been searching for him for five years, and we never thought that he‘d appear on our doorstep!”
Joshua furrowed his eyebrows. “What happened next?” Mr. Miller sighed and could not help feeling a little guilty when he thought of this. “Well, you know full well that Luke had come to us because of his girlfriend, Gwen. “After our medical experts conducted a thorough workup on her, they found that even though Gwen was in ill health, she would, fortunately, be cured if she received a heart transplant from Luke...”
He sighed and continued, “Initially, we had planned to give Luke‘s to Gwen, whereas the rest of his organs would go to Steven. That way, Steven stood a chance of waking up from his coma, but this came with risks and complications, of course.”
Mr. Miller rubbed his glabella in frustration. “Therefore, we came up with another plan.
“Since Luke and Steven were identical twins, Steven‘s heart would also be able to save Gwen.
Mr. Miller turned his head away so as not to meet Joshua‘s gaze. “In the end, we used Steven‘s heart to save Gwen as a tribute to Luke.

The readers' comments on the novel: Will you marry me, My Ex-Wife (Luna and Joshua)
Luna is sooo stupid!...
This story line is sickening… her children, Nellie in particular, do not like Malcolm. She is already married to Joshua, the father of her children who loves her more than Malcolm ever could. Just disgusting....
Another “misunderstanding”…… poor Luna, why can’t she just say the Quinns kidnapped me instead of assuming Joshua is doing the wrong thing. Terrible....
I sure hope Aura gets arrested and pays for her many crimes soon, along with Adrian and Michael. Joshua and Luna need peace with their children....
Joshua is stupid, he says he loves Luna but refuses to tell her the truth thinking he can never recover from all the deceit, if he told the truth he could redeem himself and live a happy life with his family rather than continue to protect a bunch of evil criminals. Terrible decisions by a man who is smart enough to run a multi faceted company....
Omg this author is twisted!! When does Luna catch a break! This is awful. Aurasnd Fiona are evil, evil women and are using the children to commit their crimes 🤬...
And now the author has made it sound like he cares more for Fiona who he has only known a couple of weeks than Luna, his wife, the love of his life. Stupid and pathetically disgusting....
Wow, making Joshua out to be so stupid, ugh. Yes he told this horrible bitch he would accompany her until she died, but she lied about her fake illness so I guess he’ll have to live with her forever! He also promised to love, honor and cherish his wife Luna however seems to forget that with each passing malicious mistress, Aura, Alice and now Fiona. Awful. Let’s get past this into some storyline that involves some happiness for Luna… the only woman who truly cares for and loves him. Get rid of Fiona, soon....
So disgusted with this Fiona storyline, hope it doesn’t last much longer. Joshua told her when they made the deal he had someone in his heart and would not sleep with her. They could be faking a relationship and he doesn’t have to be so nasty to Luna and the kids. It’s heartbreaking and giving him another ridiculous relationship is unnecessary. Just makes more misunderstandings for Luna and harder for her to forgive him....
Joshua is in the wrong, even if Fiona asked him to keep their fake relationship a secret he should have told Luna what was going on. After all, supposedly he lives Luna and the children and is doing this for them. Being deceiving is not working for him....
