Chapter 2879
“I don’t care!” Mr. Hoffman did not notice Steven approaching from behind and instead waved his hand dismissively at Mr. and Mrs. Hughes. “You were the ones who promised me I’d be able to have fun with that woman. Now, not only am I left unsatisfied, but she even jumped off a building right in front of me!
“Because of you, I’m now being investigated by the police. I literally just came out from being interrogated, and my wife has found out about my cheating on her. All of you should be responsible for this!”
He scoffed and added, “This is all your fault-none of you could control her well enough! I will rebuke our previous contract, and you have to pay me back the money I gave you!
“Not only that, but you need to give me extra compensation! If you don’t, I’ll spread the news about your wrongdoing all over town, and you’ll pay the price for deceiving me!”
With that, he turned around and was just about to leave when he came face-to-face with Steven.
“What the hell?” he shot Steven a murderous glare. “You Hughes are weirdos! Who sneaks up on people like that? Fucking.idiots!”
With that, he strode away.
Mr. Hughes watched him leave, then instinctively turned to glance at his wife with a fearful look. “I told you-we shouldn’t try to engage with people like him. He can always spread the news about our transaction with him around town and it won’t affect him much, but that won’t be the same for us.
“If everyone finds out that we used our adopted daughter as a bargaining tool…we won’t be able to live peacefully in this city ever again!”
Mrs. Hughes could not help raising her brows at this. “Well, if you really think it was such a bad idea, why didn’t you try to stop me back then? Now that we’re in trouble, you push all the blame onto me-you call yourself a man?”
– The color drained from Mr. Hughes’ face. “Well, you never told me Mr. Hoffman would turn out to be such

The readers' comments on the novel: Will you marry me, My Ex-Wife (Luna and Joshua)
Luna is sooo stupid!...
This story line is sickening… her children, Nellie in particular, do not like Malcolm. She is already married to Joshua, the father of her children who loves her more than Malcolm ever could. Just disgusting....
Another “misunderstanding”…… poor Luna, why can’t she just say the Quinns kidnapped me instead of assuming Joshua is doing the wrong thing. Terrible....
I sure hope Aura gets arrested and pays for her many crimes soon, along with Adrian and Michael. Joshua and Luna need peace with their children....
Joshua is stupid, he says he loves Luna but refuses to tell her the truth thinking he can never recover from all the deceit, if he told the truth he could redeem himself and live a happy life with his family rather than continue to protect a bunch of evil criminals. Terrible decisions by a man who is smart enough to run a multi faceted company....
Omg this author is twisted!! When does Luna catch a break! This is awful. Aurasnd Fiona are evil, evil women and are using the children to commit their crimes 🤬...
And now the author has made it sound like he cares more for Fiona who he has only known a couple of weeks than Luna, his wife, the love of his life. Stupid and pathetically disgusting....
Wow, making Joshua out to be so stupid, ugh. Yes he told this horrible bitch he would accompany her until she died, but she lied about her fake illness so I guess he’ll have to live with her forever! He also promised to love, honor and cherish his wife Luna however seems to forget that with each passing malicious mistress, Aura, Alice and now Fiona. Awful. Let’s get past this into some storyline that involves some happiness for Luna… the only woman who truly cares for and loves him. Get rid of Fiona, soon....
So disgusted with this Fiona storyline, hope it doesn’t last much longer. Joshua told her when they made the deal he had someone in his heart and would not sleep with her. They could be faking a relationship and he doesn’t have to be so nasty to Luna and the kids. It’s heartbreaking and giving him another ridiculous relationship is unnecessary. Just makes more misunderstandings for Luna and harder for her to forgive him....
Joshua is in the wrong, even if Fiona asked him to keep their fake relationship a secret he should have told Luna what was going on. After all, supposedly he lives Luna and the children and is doing this for them. Being deceiving is not working for him....
