Hearing what Alice had said, Mr. Scott immediately set the glass down in front of Luna. “Here you go, Ms. Luna.“
Luna frowned and glanced at the glass of liquor but made no move to pick it up. “I ‘m just an ordinary employee. Isn’t it inappropriate for me to accept a toast from you, Mr. Scott?“ She glanced at Joshua before she added, “Besides, I don’t tolerate alcohol that well. I’m afraid that I might do something stupid after I get drunk.“
Seeing how Luna glanced meaningfully at Joshua, Alice tightened her grip on his arm. “I beg to differ, Ms. Luna. Mr. Lynch has risked his life to save yours, so what makes you think you’re just an ordinary employee? Besides…“
Alice glanced at the glass that clearly contained hard liquor and sneered. Then, she lied through her teeth, “It’s just one glass. How could you get drunk from that?“
Luna smirked and looked at Joshua. “Mr. Lynch, are you sure you want me to accept this drink on your behalf?“
Joshua smiled and lifted his head to glance at Mr. Smith. “I don’t think that’s a good idea, Mr. Scott.“ He had witnessed Luna in her drunken state before, and it certainly was not pretty.
Mr. Scott refused to relent. “Mr. Lynch appears to take very good care of his female employees.
Although I guess that makes perfect sense. Mr. Lynch is even willing to put himself in harm’s way for his employee.” With that, he shot Luna a teasing look and added, ”It appears that Ms. Luna truly is an outstanding employee. Otherwise, why would Mr. Lynch go to such lengths for you?”
Mr. Scott’s words were borderline insulting. Luna frowned and stood up abruptly. ”I ‘in going to the washroom.”
”Luna, ” called out Alice curtly as soon as she realized Luna tried to flee the scene. ”You’ve always insisted that nothing is going on between you and Joshua and that your relationship is just that of a boss and his employee. However, you refuse to take a drink for Joshua, and you don’t even try to explain anything when Mr. Scott has misunderstood you. ”

The readers' comments on the novel: Will you marry me, My Ex-Wife (Luna and Joshua)
Luna is sooo stupid!...
This story line is sickening… her children, Nellie in particular, do not like Malcolm. She is already married to Joshua, the father of her children who loves her more than Malcolm ever could. Just disgusting....
Another “misunderstanding”…… poor Luna, why can’t she just say the Quinns kidnapped me instead of assuming Joshua is doing the wrong thing. Terrible....
I sure hope Aura gets arrested and pays for her many crimes soon, along with Adrian and Michael. Joshua and Luna need peace with their children....
Joshua is stupid, he says he loves Luna but refuses to tell her the truth thinking he can never recover from all the deceit, if he told the truth he could redeem himself and live a happy life with his family rather than continue to protect a bunch of evil criminals. Terrible decisions by a man who is smart enough to run a multi faceted company....
Omg this author is twisted!! When does Luna catch a break! This is awful. Aurasnd Fiona are evil, evil women and are using the children to commit their crimes 🤬...
And now the author has made it sound like he cares more for Fiona who he has only known a couple of weeks than Luna, his wife, the love of his life. Stupid and pathetically disgusting....
Wow, making Joshua out to be so stupid, ugh. Yes he told this horrible bitch he would accompany her until she died, but she lied about her fake illness so I guess he’ll have to live with her forever! He also promised to love, honor and cherish his wife Luna however seems to forget that with each passing malicious mistress, Aura, Alice and now Fiona. Awful. Let’s get past this into some storyline that involves some happiness for Luna… the only woman who truly cares for and loves him. Get rid of Fiona, soon....
So disgusted with this Fiona storyline, hope it doesn’t last much longer. Joshua told her when they made the deal he had someone in his heart and would not sleep with her. They could be faking a relationship and he doesn’t have to be so nasty to Luna and the kids. It’s heartbreaking and giving him another ridiculous relationship is unnecessary. Just makes more misunderstandings for Luna and harder for her to forgive him....
Joshua is in the wrong, even if Fiona asked him to keep their fake relationship a secret he should have told Luna what was going on. After all, supposedly he lives Luna and the children and is doing this for them. Being deceiving is not working for him....
