Chapter 169 Jumping off the Building 

The person had a tan complexion. 

Emelie was stunned. “You” 

He seemed to be a worker from the site. He asked in a low tone, “Are you okay?” 

“I’m fine, what about you?” Are you okay? Thanks for saving me. What’s your name?” Emelie quickly asked 

His shoulder was injured. Someone had already called for the doctor while the others helped him out. 

Emelie was still in shock, and the others were asking her if she was fine. 

william stood not far away. 

He saw the steel rod coming down and took a few hurried steps back, but he was too far away to intervene. He recalled a similar incident at the cultural heritage boat factory, where about came crashing down 

Back then, he had actually caught a glimpse of Emelie moving to pull him out of harm’s way. But at that moment, he had lunged toward Daphne. 

He didn’t think much of it at the time. But now, observing from the sidelines and considering Emelie’s reaction, she could’ve easily avoided the boat. She only didn’t because she went to pull him away. 

Just like the incident this time, she could’ve dodged the steel rod, but she chose to push Patricia out of harm’s way first 

This time, she was protected by a worker and escaped injury. However, her leg was injured back then, and she took a month to recover 

Suddenly, William felt a discomfort he couldn’t quite place. 

This woman was seemingly intelligent, yet so foolish. Clearly capable of avoiding harm herself, yet willing to get hurt for others. Was she trying to be the hero? 

Patricia was crying because she twisted her ankle in her heels. William hurried over and scooped her up in his arms. 

As Emelie turned her head, she caught sight of William carrying Patricia away. 

She also heard murmurs from the crowd. “Don’t you think Mr. Middleton treats Ms. May differently?” 

“I’ve noticed that for a while. Otherwise, why would be concern himself with her? It’s not just Ms. May who got hurt here.” 

Due to this accident, work for the day had to be temporarily halted. 

Emelie was uninjured and didn’t want to rest. After all, the sooner she finished documenting, the sooner she could wrap up work and return to Capebutt City. Thus, she stayed alone at the base to record

Out of nowhere, a figure appeared and grabbed Emelle’s hand just in time, 

Emelle raised an eyebrow. 

The man realized there was a large platform below, so there was no danger at all. 

Realizing he’d been fooled, he panicked. He was about to let go of Emelle and flee, but she grabbed his wrist, preventing his escape.
