Lyle grinned. "After I left Capebatt City, I wandered aimlessly. I didn't know where to go or what to do, so I ended up traveling around Northern Valantis for a few months.

"One night, I was drinking in a small bar in Dunvarn when I overheard the neighboring table talking about the Filo Group acquiring SAM. They made a point to mention a new Ms. Pierce who had just joined the Filo Group.

"But I didn't realize they were emphasizing it on purpose. I just found the connection between the Filo family and the Pierce surname intriguing, so I headed to Baliz to find out more.

"I staked out her place until I saw her with my own eyes and realized that she was still alive. That's when I decided to join her and work by her side."

William continued, "I was worried about her being alone in Faldoria with the Filo family, in a strange place without anyone she could trust. It would have been difficult for her to do anything, so I wanted you to help her."

Lyle was at a loss for words. "Will, you really—"
