Wolf-less Omega Luna novel Chapter 14

Alana's POV

For the second time today, Coral pulled me from Axel who had to go and “handle some business” with beta Tyler and she spent a good 30 minutes talking my ears off about different details that at some point, I zoned off not hearing the rest of her words.

“Luna?”

“Huh?” I didn’t even know she had asked me a question. “Did you say something?”

“Yes. I’ve been saying a lot of things,” she said with a chuckle. “You weren’t listening.”

“I’m sorry, I got lost for a moment.”

“What was the last thing you heard?” She asked.

“Um…I think the point where you said a port in of what Axel eats is enough to feed five mature werewolves, I guess?”

“Oh no! That was minutes ago,” she said, pouting.

“I'm sorry.”

“That’s okay.” she waved her hands. “So, Luna…” she continued.

“Please call me Alana.”

“If that’s what you want,”

“It is. Please.”

She nodded.

“So Alana, what changed your mind?” She asked as she parted my hair into two halves and braided them into giant cornrows.

Coral had been obsessing about my hair, eyes, and skin, so it didn’t surprise me when she begged me to let her style my hair for me.

I easily agreed and she proceeded to wash it thoroughly, pamper my hair with products, and dry it with an electric hand dryer.

It was my first time using such products or tools on my hair but I couldn’t lie that it felt really good to have my hair taken care of like that.

After washing, my hair felt and looked so much better than it did when she first complimented it. I couldn’t believe my eyes.

“About what?” I asked.

“About announcing your bond with the Alpha to the pack.” She opened a bottle and handed it to me. “Axel said you could take your time to settle in before the introduction seeing as you were a bit uncomfortable when he mentioned it, but you easily agreed to do it tomorrow. Why?” She massaged my scalp with oil from the bottle.

“I admit that I was nervous about the whole Alpha and Luna situation and us coming out to the pack. I still am. But I figured that hiding from it wouldn’t do us any good. I’d rather face it head-on and deal with the outcome than sit back and wait for it to overwhelm me.”

“That’s awesome. Besides, you have Axel by your side. And me too, to assist you in any way that I can.”

“Thank you, Coral. I truly appreciate it.”

“You have the most healthy hair I’ve seen. Although washing it drank a lot of my products,” she laughed, “the outcome made it worth it! Damn girl, what did you use on your hair before now?”

“Nothing. I didn’t really pay much attention to my hair so I guess it’s just natural.”

“I love it.”

“I love yours too. It’s green, it matches your eyes.”

“Bah! Mine isn’t natural. My eyes are though,” she quickly put in, “but my hair is naturally brown. I just dyed it green because why not?”
