Kim was sitting on the sofa and watching TV with a facial mask when she received the message. She bounced up and threw the mask away. Then she dashed out without even washing her face.
When she arrived at the hospital, Claudia had been in the delivery room for an hour.
Doctor Gerren came out of the delivery room and said, “The mother was severely injured, leading to premature delivery. Also, the malposition of the fetus had caused difficult labor!”
Winifred was stunned, "What?"
Blair was standing next to her. She looked like everything was just as she presumed. She asked, “Doctor, are you here to ask us if we want to keep the mother or the baby?”
Gerren looked at Blair. They read each other's hints.
Kim noticed their micro-expressions and immediately understood everything!
“If we have to make that decision...” Winifred thought about it and made up her mind. “Keep the baby.”
Kim was startled and almost yelled out!
This bunch of jerks must have plotted this scheme since a long time ago.
She would never allow them to have their way.
Since it would be hard for her to save Claudia alone. She was wondering how she could make this work...
She paced back and forth anxiously and suddenly saw a tall figure coming from a distance. Kim seemed to have seen the silver lining.
"Marshall!"
She rushed over and stopped him. "Help Claudia, please!"
Marshall was a thoracic surgeon. He had just finished his surgery and didn't know what had happened to Claudia. He tensed up when he heard someone calling his name.
“What is going on?” he asked.
Kim inclined to his ear and whispered everything to him. Then she clutched his wrist tight and begged, “Please! Claudia will be in danger if you don’t do anything.”
“Got it.”
He strode towards the delivery room as soon as he finished speaking.
But before he walked in, he stopped by a nurse. “Doctor Cooper, this is the delivery room, not the thoracic department. We don’t need you in here.”
“Well...”
Marshall didn’t know how to argue.
The nurse then said, “No one will be allowed inside except for the husband!”
She closed the door after that, leaving Marshall standing aside in embarrassment. He was extremely anxious, but there was nothing he could do about it.
Amber said, "Marshall, you were my sister's former fiancé, but I don’t think they would allow you in there for that."
“Yeah, Marshall. You and Claudia are over. You should stay away from our family business. Just leave her alone,” Blair added.
Marshall was frustrated and gloomy.
Kim dragged him away and whispered, “Marshall, Gerren just said that Claudia was in difficult labor, and I have a copy of her check-up records. Take a look!”
She believed that Blair and Gerren had some very dark secrets under the table.
As she gave all the copies to him, Kim whispered, “Don’t leave until I come back. I’ll call you!”
She said and went downstairs as quickly as she could.
Ben was in the ER downstairs, just as she had expected.
Hanna’s treatment was over. She was wrapped in bandages because of the multiple injuries on her body, and she had a few band-aids on her head. She was lying in bed, looking haggard and weak.
Ben stayed by her bedside and held her hand. This was such a warm and moving scene until it was interrupted by a kick on the door.
Kim furiously kicked the door open and stormed in.
“I can’t believe you are still here!” She said.
Kim lost her temper. “Your wife’s giving birth to your baby right now, and you’re here with the other woman?”
