Worship The Ground You Walk On novel Chapter 24

After Conrad was vaccinated, Claudia was about to go home. It was a sunny day. Doves flew beyond the central square and many pedestrians stopped to have fun.

Gorgeous water columns spouted by the music fountain rose and fell with the music and changed their shapes like a dazzling dance. It was quite beautiful.

Claudia stopped and looked at the fountain just as Conrad woke up, so she held him in her arms to feel the lively atmosphere there.

She heard someone called her as she was enjoying the view.

“Miss Evans.”

Claudia froze and looked at the man who called him.

She saw a tall man in a nice suit, seemingly an employee from the Evans Group.

And only the people from the Evans Group would call her “Miss Evans”.

The young man nodded slightly and politely said, “Chairman Raba would like to meet you.”

Chairman Raba referred to Theodore Raba.

Blair's second husband, who was the executive chairman of the Evans Group now.

So nominally he was also Claudia's stepfather.

The Evans Group was not far from here - only a ten-minute drive. Claudia held Conrad and followed the young man directly to the chairman's office. The man politely made a 'please' gesture, and then respectfully left.

Claudia pushed the door and came inside. Theodore had waited for a while. He sat on the sofa smoking.

On seeing her coming, he hurriedly got up and also said towards little Conrad in Claudia's arms, “Hello, my baby grandson!”

Conrad was too young to understand him. He just winked his eyes and looked at him quietly.

He did not even smile.

A loving expression flashed in Claudia’s eyes. It seemed that the mother and the son were indeed connected. Conrad was so young, but he knew that they were in a poor relationship.

As a stepfather, he had barely spent time with Claudia as she was growing up. He was more like a stranger to her than a father.

And Claudia would never forget that after her mother was diagnosed with psychiatric disorder, it was Theodore who first advised to send her to a sanitarium.

Claudia knew that he was not a good man.

Theodore wanted to reach out to Conrad, but Conrad simply ignored him. Claudia stood still, showing no signs of help. He felt embarrassed with his arms reaching out.

They sat down and Theodore began to talk about some household affairs - something about how Blair missed her and hoped that she could bring Conrad home.

But Claudia also took the opportunity to make a request. She quickly typed on her phone, “Can I see my mother?”

Her mother was sent to a sanatorium many years ago. Claudia had met her less than ten times. Her mother was more like a prisoner than a patient.

Theodore was slightly stunned and said, “Claudia, look. Now you have Conrad to maintain your position in the Crawford Family. I was wondering if you could help me with something.”

That’s why.

That’s why he wanted to see Claudia.

Claudia looked at him indifferently.

“Actually it's no big deal... It's the CCM project. Can you persuade them to give up the project so that we could have it?” Theodore said.

Claudia frowned and remembered that the CCM project, the commission of counter make chemical, was a joint project cooperated with a German company, whose main business was daily chemical industry. It could exactly meet the demands of both the Crawford and the Evans Groups.

And it was said that the project was profitable. It was no wonder that Theodore, having a hard time, would aim at this lucrative project.
