It was at 10 am the next morning.
Ben walked back to his office after the morning conference and found the door of his office unlatched. He squinted his dark eyes and pushed the door open.
Sitting on the sofa, Winifred heard the sound of the door and raised her eyes to look at her son.
Ben glanced at her and noticed that Conrad was lying in her arms and having fun with the toy in his hands.
He withdrew his eyes from his son, put down the files on the desk, and said, “Mom, why do you bring the kid to the company?”
“Because you haven’t been home for days! Conrad hasn’t seen you for so long, so I bring him here to take a look at you so that he won’t forget what his father looks like!”
Winifred grumbled and approached him with his son.
Conrad smiled brightly once he saw his father. He opened his arms and looked for a hug.
Ben reached out and held him in his arms firmly, and the naughty boy grabbed his tie and put it into his mouth.
Winifred stopped him in a hurry, “Oh dear, how can you put everything in your mouth!”
She took the kid back into her arms and stroked his head affectionately, “Don’t eat anything you see, my naughty boy!”
Conrad just giggled and held her neck with his little arms as if nothing had happened.
She sighed helplessly and handed him over to the babysitter.
And then, Winifred took a deep breath and sat down, “So, when do you and Claudia file a divorce?”
Ben was focused on dealing with the documents on the computer with his fingers moving back and forth.
Though Ben didn’t respond to her, she still kept talking, “We can’t let Claudia stay in our family any longer. People have been laughing about us having a dumb girl as our daughter-in-law for years!”
“And now, she is scheming against Hanna! What a vicious dumb! I don’t want to see her any longer! Divorce her as soon as possible!”
She had never had any good impression of Claudia, and now it even got worse because of what happened to Hanna.
All the hatred and displeasure were not formed in one day.
But Ben was bothered by her nagging and frowned. He turned to look at Winifred and said in a cold tone, “No matter I divorce her or not, it’s our own business. Stop interfering with us, mom!”
“How can one stand by and do nothing with a girl like that? Why are you still keeping up with her? I don’t get it!” Winifred was mad.
Ben didn’t respond. Though he still looked calm, his mind was occupied by displeasure.
“Just divorce her before it is too late. Conrad is still too young to remember anything, so when you marry Hanna, he will still recognize her as his natural mother.
That was Winifred’s plan!
Ben withdrew his sight from the screen and stared at Winifred indifferently, “Is it fair to Conrad? What if he doubts about it when he grows up?”
How did he explain this to his son?
Besides, Kim had already negotiated with Ben and Winifred before. She required the Crawford family to take Claudia back home in three days, but they ignored it. And she had given out the news that Ben and Claudia were about to get divorced.
