Henry frowned, he was unpleased with Monique's flat out rejection.

In a split second, his expression resumed to his usual cold expression with those bottomless eyes of his seemed to be cold as well.

A damp chill was spread across the room as though the air conditioner had been switched on.

This made Monique start shaking.

"I heard from Jimmy, who stays a floor above us, that his parents will sleep together with him." Angel puckered her mouth.

Jimmy was a little boy staying one floor above the unit that Monique rented. He was also a friend of Angel and would occasionally come over to play with her.

Monique felt troubled. This was a very normal request for any ordinary child, but to Angel, it was like a desire, a longing for fatherly love.
