Wrong Ride, Right Lover novel Chapter 127

Last night they slept further apart, each person to one side, unlike tonight. Monique’s face was reddening, not just that but her cheeks were burning. Her heart was pumping vigorously, knocking her body like a drumroll, as if it was ready to fly out from her throat if she opened her mouth.

“Mommy, hurry up!” Little Nomi pestered again.

Monique held back her embarrassment, and calmly replied to Little Nomi with a smile, “Ok.” She slowly climbed over, and forced a calm and unshaken voice, “Move over.”

Henry raised his eyebrows, with a faint smirk, he closed his eyes again.

The room was quiet. Monique rolled her eyes and scolded Henry in her mind countless times. After turning off the lights, she laid down helplessly facing away from Henry. She hugged Little Nomi and kissed her on her forehead.

“Sleep tight, dear.”

Little Nomi nodded with a sweet smile and shut her eyes before falling asleep almost instantly.

After a while, her hand went numb from placing it below Little Nomi’s pillow. She retracted it and flipped over into a full embrace with a muscular chest. His strong arms tightly enveloped her small waist.

Her body shivered at the touch of his warm embrace, coupled by the not-so-unfamiliar scent of manliness with a faint hint of tobacco spicing up her nose.

She jolted slightly, her mind blanked.
