Her slender fingers picked up her phone. It was nine o’clock in the morning!
She woke up hastily and washed up, got changed, and went downstairs.
Before she went down, she looked into the mirror, fixed her hair, and put on a lips gloss. She had never put in so much effort with her look. Strange.
She felt that Little Nomi and Henry were downstairs. She had to admit that she kind of missed him.
She rushed downstairs and glanced around the living room. It was empty, there were just a few maids cleaning up the dining table. They must have just gone out. She trembled a little, could they be in the backyard?
With that in mind, Monique jogged toward the backyard, just as she got out of the door, she saw a black Bentley driving away. She was so close to meeting him! She regretted not waking up sooner.
Mrs. Lee just sent Little Nomi off to the car, as she turned back, she saw Monique standing blankly by the door.
Monique was dressed in a green puffy top, with oversized beige-colored pants. Simple and elegant. The outfit emphasized her skinny figure, and the puffy top was enhanced with some black polka dots, giving her a refreshing outlook. Her exquisite face looked like the clear sky after the rain, simple and pretty. Her eyes sparkled like reflective lakes under the moonlit sky. However, between her eyes laid a faint hint of isolation.
Mrs. Lee was stunned. She noticed that Monique looked different today, but she did not know exactly what was different.
Seeing that Mrs. Lee was looking at her, Monique smiled a little to cover up her disappointment, “Good morning, Mrs. Lee!”
