The silence resumed in the car. Shaun stepped on the gas pedal and accelerated, the speed of the car greatly contrasted with his nerdy outlook.
Finally, they have arrived at the Moore mansion. It was not till Henry stepped out of the car when Shaun finally let out a long relief, his legs turning jelly. The look on Henry’s face was way too scary and intimidating.
Seeing that Henry had come home, Mrs. Lee brought forth the soup she had prepared for him. “Young Master, please have some soup,” Mrs. Lee handed over the soup and said, “It’d been some time since you last worked till late, please take care of your body.”
“I know, please get some rest. There are so many helpers at the mansion.” Henry said coldly. He was brought up by Mrs. Lee, so he had always respected her.
“I don’t trust the others.” Mrs. Lee replied, she knew Henry was concerned for her health.
After finishing the soup, Henry went upstairs, and Mrs. Lee went back to her bedroom. Before entering his room, he unconsciously looked over to the direction of Monique’s room, and his room was still lit up. He walked over and hesitated outside the door. There was no sound coming from the room, he pushed open the door slightly, and a small figure leaning by the bed caught his eyes.
Henry tip-toed over keeping quiet, he stopped in front of the bed, and looked down at the Monique who was long asleep. Her palm-sized face hanging loosely on her shoulder, her eyebrows beautifully slanted and his charming eyes shut. Her pinkish lips were slightly parted, hidden behind some loose hair covering her face. She was hugging a wolf-shaped pillow and had a book in her hands. She seemed like a bored person waiting for someone but fell asleep while waiting.
He found the wolf-shaped pillow distracting, he took it away from her and tossed it aside. He carried Monique in his arms, she was very light and her waist was so small that it filled up her grip. Yet it was this tiny and soft figure that filled up his empty heart, her exhales filling up his black shirt with warmth.
