Monique’s brain went blank from worrying about Louise. Seeing that Henry was approaching her, she recalled what had happened yesterday and became so terrified that she tried to push him away.
However, Henry pulled her into an embrace. As he looked down, his beautiful eyes were captivating, and his deep voice was extremely attractive.
His voice was so attractive that it could impregnate one’s ears. It was blatant flirting to Monique’s ears!
‘In your dreams!’ Monique’s eyes twitched. She thought she was crazy to be asking for his help.
Nonetheless, she had to be courteous while asking for a favor. She fought the feeling of nausea and said through gritted teeth, “Let’s look for Louise.”
It was an inappropriate time to mess with her right now and Henry decided to carry her before putting her in the driver’s seat.
He then opened the door to get into the backseat.
Little Nomi turned around and smiled at the man in the backseat. She gave him 120 likes in her heart seeing what he did for her mother just now.
He was tall, handsome, and dressed classy and fashionably. He seemed like a perfect match for her mother.
Monique had yet to snap out of it after being carried into her own car. She seemed confused.
“Drive,” Henry growled.
Monique finally snapped out of it after hearing Henry’s growl. She put her seatbelt on and drove.
“Are you dumb? Why didn’t you wait in the car?” Henry scoffed. Unknowingly, he was angry about her waiting for him outside the car.
“You’re… You’re the one who asked me to stay where I was!” Monique replied.
“Did you really have to do exactly as I said? Are you dumb?” Henry lifted his brow. An expression—which was foreign to Henry himself—appeared on his face.
Henry’s phone rang. Secretary Jane had sent over Louise’s location, and it was on the way to her home but through a different route than usual. Based on women’s magical sixth sense, Monique was sure that Louise was in trouble.
Monique sped toward the location. Although the car was moving fast, it felt pretty stable to be in it—it was not a bumpy ride at all. She drove the taxi like a high-end sports car, and the speed that she was driving her car at did not match her slender appearance at all. Who could associate such fierceness in a slender woman?
Henry’s lips curved upward unconsciously.
The car arrived at a remote suburb, and it was quite a distance away from Louise’s house. Moreover, there were barely any cars in the suburbs at night and the entire street was eerily quiet. Monique was more anxious than ever. ‘Louise, please be okay.’
Meanwhile, Louise was losing hope in the woods nearby. She tried her best to fight back but she was no match for this strong and brutal man on her.
Her clothes were torn apart and the middle-aged man kissed her with a stinking mouth. She was about to be raped.
She continued struggling. She was losing her strength and about to lose all hope.
Monique’s car continued to move forward before arriving near a yellow taxi. As she drove forward, she heard some noise coming from the woods.
Monique stopped the car. The noise that the tyres’ friction produced pierced through the quiet suburb.
Monique opened the door. She was about to rush into the woods when a huge figure appeared behind her and pulled her hand back. He glared at Monique and scoffed, “Wait in the car with the child, I’ll go in myself.”
He was more than what was needed to stop the rapist.
Henry was 1.9 meters tall and he had a fit body. Monique looked up to his handsome face—it seemed like he was protecting her. Was this an illusion?
He just bullied her yesterday…
Little Nomi’s huge, dark eyes were glowing. Her ‘father’ was glowing like a god! The way he protected her mother was so boyfriend-like and he looked extremely handsome doing that.
