How could it be Mr. CEO! Louise could not believe her eyes. She was so shocked that she did not even realize that the cops had arrived at the scene.
“The cops are here. You’re fine now, you’re fine now,” Monique comforted Louise as she helped her up and patted her shoulder. Louise’s eyes were still widened and she had chills all over her body.
The man in front of her had a body and manner more attractive than top male models as his handsome features were prominent on his frosty look. This elegant, luxurious, and royal-like man would be none other than the Moore Group’s CEO—Henry Moore.
“Bring that disgusting thing away.” He glared at the officers arrogantly, and his voice was cold yet magnetic. He had an inherently royal aura to him.
His temperament pierced through the officers’ hearts. It was terrifying.
‘God damn it, how dare this guy mess with Young Master Moore’s employees? He will be sentenced to jail for sure!’
“Yes… Yes… We’ll take him away. We’ll never let him out and harm others anymore.” The officer next to Henry nodded and bowed respectfully.
The officer chucked the beaten up, middle-aged man into the patrol car and bowed before Henry again. “If you have no other requests, we’ll take our leave.”
Henry nodded slightly as a signal for the cops to leave.
“Thank you, Mr. CEO!” Louise bowed in appreciation. If Monique did not hold her up, she would have been on her knees by now. She still could not believe her eyes.
“Get in,” Henry scoffed. There was no hint of warmth in his voice. His dark eyes glared at Monique before opening the door to the car and he did it all so gracefully.
Henry’s beautiful face was clouded with dissatisfaction. This woman had yet to look him in the eye ever since he walked out of the woods. Was she trying to burn the bridge?
In fact, Monique did not dare to look at him at all. Her heart was still racing thinking about how he carried her into the car. It was uncontrollable.
She had never been carried that way by a man in her life. She felt a sense of security as she laid in those strong arms.
Monique helped Louise into the backseat with Henry. Louise did not dare to sit near him and leaned against the door instead.
Monique got in the car as well. Her clear eyes seemed like shining stars.
She looked at the man in the backseat through the rearview mirror and said, “Let’s send Louise back first. I’m worried about her in this state and it’s impossible to hail a taxi here.” Her voice was gentle and sweet. It sounded refreshing like flowing water in the mountains.
He did not reply, but nodded slightly instead.
After that, he leaned into the backseat lazily, and naturally crossed his long legs. He was bathed in the waning light and he seemed like he had a cool and domineering temperament. His sculpture-like features were a perfect work of art. His cold, deep, dark eyes were exuding a sharp ray of light like an eagle in the night.
The threatening aura exuding from him was dazing.
The atmosphere in the car felt a little tense and stressful once it became quiet.
Why did Monique appear with the CEO?
The CEO was a busy man. It would be nearly impossible for him to realize that an insignificant employee like her was in trouble!
“Why did the CEO come to save me?” Louise could not help herself but asked. She was really curious about it.
“I got him to help. I couldn’t find you after looking around outside your building, and I did not know who else could help me. I had no choice but to ask him!” Monique said with honesty.
Henry’s eyes twitched and his expression became darker than ever. What did she mean by ‘having no choice but to ask him’! Was it so difficult for her to do so?
So that was the case... Then, how did Monique know the CEO? Louise was curious but she did not dare to ask Monique in front of the CEO.
“Thank you so much, if it wasn’t for you, I would have…” Louise looked at Monique thankfully. She did not dare to imagine what could have happened to her.
She might have lost her dignity, she might even have lost her life.
