Yvonne Xander harrumphed, and said, “Aren’t you afraid that I’ll complain to the chairman about how you all mistreated me?”

Charlotte’s eyes widened in disbelief. What the hell was she up to? She looked at Manager Harper pitifully as if to say, ‘Dear manager, help me out please!’

Manager Harper had been working for Marriott International for two decades. He had dealt with all sorts of situations. He gestured with his eyes to comfort Charlotte and signaled her to step aside.

“How may I help you, Miss?” Manager Harper leaned against the chair as he asked Yvonne.

Yvonne stood there and scoffed, “The chairman told me to look for you and to give me a decent position in this company.”

She disrespected him blatantly as he was merely a human resource manager.

Manager Harper turned around and glanced at Charlotte.

Charlotte immediately said, “She claims to be the younger sister of the chairman’s driver, Monique.”

Manager Harper was aware of Monique. The staff from the chairman’s office mentioned to him before that the chairman was head over heels for that woman. They were supposed to have a meeting in the morning but it got canceled last minute because the chairman did not come to the office.

This was unprecedented. The chairman used to be a workaholic and was always very punctual. He would never be late for meetings, not to mention cancel one without any particular reason.

This showed that the woman was really important to the chairman.
